Hey all you guys-

Annie here, wet woodland weather in my part of the state-- cant wait for cooler

weather.

I am having an ASAP endoscope in the early am-- new GI Dr and i am afraid-- have

had over a month of gut pain and not being able to eat now for weeks any solid

food-- How are all of you?

keep me in your thoughts.

How is the case going?

I am still here reading posts and waiting to get better!

No I cant work anymore. I'm ok just hanging around the house, but i cant walk

that far or for that long. I cant stand up that long.I used to be a waitress,

and i remember the Bar ladies carrying around HEAVY mugs of beer all night long.

Thats funny you mentioned the money too. Cause i used to work in a bank. And

that CHANGE was heavy. The brinks man would bring it into the bank every day on

a dolly. We used to wheel it around on an office chair. YIKES Its amazing how

heavy change is.

I think maine is like seattle. The low pressure come in the country right thru

seattle, and leaves right over Maine. We have a dry air.

Our state is the same way. Its all medical jobs. Thats it. All the factories

are gone. Just stores, and medical jobs. Bangor is one hour from us. Which is ok,

but you cant really work there and drive in our winter weather. Too dangerous.

Bangor is like a huge shopping hub now. You'll have to tell your husband, he

would recognise it anymore. It has grown so much. All stores.

Everytone up here, gets all kinds of assistance. Dave my boyfriend has been

laid off, for  long time. He's working part time now, and he is just about to

turn 62. So he is going to go on early social security.Have to, sort of. And

then work part time. he has to do that no jobs. So we have to make it until

january. We'll be ok.  But i guess its bad all over. cindy

> It sounds like Maine is almost like Seattle-where I was born and my daughter

now lives. She was born on the only sunny day in August 32 years ago tomorrow, I

really feel old now! But the rain and humidity there don't bother my joints, I

get to visit them once a year at Xmas. For some reason, our Vegas winter really

causes a lot of pain and inflammation, but for the time I'm up there, I don't

have the same type of pain. It's strange.

> From what I last heard, Nevada only has 3 million people and about 2 million

are here in Vegas, it's almost a mini L.A. now. I do get good medical care, and

there are tons of pain management drs., all the casino people have very physical

work, like the cocktail waitresses carrying all those " free " drinks and walking

back and forth to the bar and then to their area. I used to work in a change

booth and put the coins from the slot machines that came out, into a machine and

exchange it for paper money-so I lifted 20-25 pound bags of coin 8 hrs. a day.

So my knees, back and neck all have metal in them! Now the job I had is obsolete

since coins no longer drop from slot machines, so I got disability just in time,

if there's any good in all this pain. There are plenty of jobs here in the

medical field! Do you still work? My husband was born in Bangor, but moved at a

young age. His mother had a very distinct accent!

> Well, send us some rain, it's a novelty here-I hope you aren't having to

suffer from any of the effects of this recession. Do they have a lot of

resources to help people out, like if they need housing or food assistance? They

laid a lot of people off who worked in those jobs, and our shelters are overful

since we have so many foreclosures.

> Now you know more about Nevada than you probably wanted-but all this venting

helps keep my anxiety away-so thank you for listening to me, and I hope you get

some sunshine soon.

Thats funny you mentioned the money too. Cause i used to work in a bank. And

that CHANGE was heavy. The brinks man would bring it into the bank every day on

a dolly. We used to wheel it around on an office chair. YIKES Its amazing how

heavy change is.

would recognise it anymore. It has grown so much. All stores.

january. We'll be ok.  But i guess its bad all over. cindy

really feel old now! But the rain and humidity there don't bother my joints, I

causes a lot of pain and inflammation, but for the time I'm up there, I don't

have the same type of pain. It's strange.

there are tons of pain management drs., all the casino people have very physical

work, like the cocktail waitresses carrying all those " free " drinks and walking

back and forth to the bar and then to their area.

I know it's tempting and it may be the only way but I've seen charts

where you really hurt yourself by taking SS at 62. Every year you can

wait after that makes a significant improvement in your monthly check

you get. Just something to think about. btw I'm and many of us here

are screwed because I started drawing at age 47 =-O Dave

Oh i know Dave!!! My dave would have worked until 65, but i think theres going

to be no other way. Because if you cant get a job, because there just isnt any.

What can you do?I always figured out how to work for my self. But even that hit

the skids, due to the econonmy.

hi Dave and everyone,

Your posts sound like my life.  Last week it was to my regular dentist, next day

to the dentist who does surgery

because my dentist broke the cap off of my left top molar trying to remove it (I

have to get dentures at 46yo and

that bumms me out alot) then the next day to Roseburg (I am in So. Oregon) for

new MRI and exrays for my

chronic back/hip/leg pain.  What a week!!  Of course while in Roseburg we check

out Home Depot which he loves,

and Walmart and ate at Skippers, yes, even I had some fish, v e r y carefully!

lol.....wasn't gonna miss out on fish even though we have it *fresh* on the

coast :o)

My appt is next week to see the Neurosurgeon and what he now thinks of this

updated MRI and exrays.  He couldn't

figure out all my pain on my left side from looking at the MRI from last

Halloween so that is why I had a new one

done last week.  This will be our 4th? trip to Roseburg.  One a week so far plus

the dentist inbetween but that is only a half an hour drive.

Now my guy has a head cold or sinuses and he is crrrranky as well as in chronic

pain.  He is obese.  He has bad

legs, screws in one of them.  He is only 56yo.

Yesterday he woke up in a bad mood, his head was in a vice, all stuffed up,

hungry, cranky with me, ug!  We are

both in chronic pain AND it IS very hard on our relationship, you bet!   It can

and does ruin a nice day.  He can at

least sit outside where as I am uncomfortable sitting.  I gotta find a lounger

that won't break my little bank.

Thank goodness he got me this laptop  pc because I can lay in bed with my knees

up and use it just fine.

But him being in his grumpy mood when he woke up just blew my whole day.  I had

been enjoying working on

new stuff on my new pc but put it away after he got up.  I ended up just going

back to bed, crying a little, frustrated.

Probably having my darned pms again too.  Plus, my sister and her family left

our town recently and didn't say

squat to me, only writes me, our dad passed last November and that has been

very, very hard for me to deal with.

My sister is the administrator of his estate since he did not leave a will and

the fact that I was adopted out I have no

legal ties in the laws eyes here in Or. and she didn't do follow through with

Dad's requests that he had told us.  I

am very upset and hurt that she would do that to me.  She must be brainwashed by

her hubby and she even wrote that

she doesn't feel guilty.......huh????  UG!  She is being brainwashed somehow

plus I do know that she is a greedy one.  I do love her, don't get me wrong, but

I would never do what she did.  Doesn't it say in the Ten Commandments to honor

your Mother and Father?  Well, she didn't honor our father.  There is more I

could say, I could probably

even take this to court for another reason but I won't.  I will just be nice and

see if she does end up following dad's last wishes.  I will write her a letter

to politely remind her of his last wishes.

sorry about that, got carried away again,

I hope some doctor can do something less invasive for my chronic pain.  The guy

that did my MRI said I had a really crooked back.  What does that mean?   I will

find out Tuesday I know, at least  I hope so.

gentle hugs and I hope we all have a better day today, gosh, the sun is shining

and I still can't enjoy it hardly, it's really depressing.  At least  my guy can

get out there and piddle around a bit :)

more hugs, Coleen

ps. heck, I would need morphine or something to be up most of the day everyday.

Coleen? CROOKED BACK? I am the queen of crookedness! i have a crooked neck.

Nothing else wrong. No buldges, herniations, compressions. just crooked.

Crooked back? that creates all sort of problems. one of which is PAIN,presses

on nerves. But heres the important part. If your back is crooked, the rest of

your body tries to compensate. Therefore that adds more stress and strain on

everything else and every joint. knees, hips, hip hurts the leg, the leg hurts

the ankle. All kinds of far reaching effects. Something bad in the lower back,

can cause a bad neck up top. usually every bad neck has a lumbar problem as

well. cindy
