Geri,

Thanks for all the info. I see my primary doc next week. I am printing all of

this info to take with me. The nearest transplant team is in Gainesville and

I think I just might ask for a referral to go see a hepatologist as you

suggested.

Bless you and your infinite wisdom, Ginger

Ginger,

You'll be happy to know that the American Liver Association said the best

hepatoligists in florida are at Shands/Gainesville or the University of

Miami! Here is a link to Shands, Dr. Worman at the ALA specifically

recommended Dr. O'Brien and his team.

Good luck!!!

Great news Lesa! I bet Josiah is jumping with joy too! Must be so great

when they know someone understands what they are feeling or want, or to

understand what someone wants of them. :-) You go Josiah!!!

Thank you, Gail, for the web site. Also, thank you for everyone helping

with table behaviors.

I did begin to sit Josiah at the table in a regular chair with a belt

around him. This is actually working very well, right now. I've been

very surprised at his good behavior. I'm so glad to get him out of the

high chair. I've actually found that his bad behaviors have become far

less than when he was in that high chair. He use to hit, pull hair or

anything he could do within arms reach of anyone. Now, he doesn't try

anything! Yea for Josiah.

Also, school this year is going better than I ever could hope for.

Josiah's new associate is so good with him. I gave her that 26 page

article that the Autistic man wrote and she read every bit of it. She is

also working on communication with PECS and he is really responding to

it. Last year his Special Ed teacher, the one that refuses to work with

him, said that he couldn't communicate or make choices until he showed an

interest, duh!, how can he show an interest if it's never presented.

Well, his associate is helping him and he's doing great with it. She is

also reading scripture to him, by request, and playing beautiful music

during his quiet time. In return he's coming home so happy and he is

showing an interest in computer time and specific books. This is all a

first for him at school. He did many of these things at home and they

thought I was a little crazy cuz he wouldn't do anything at school. I am

so grateful for her.

Because of all of this we are at a different place in our lives at home!

I never thought we would get a break and feel am finally seeing what I've

known for soooo long. That is: most of Josiah's behaviors are

behavioral because of us not understanding him and him not being able to

communicate with us, now that we are making some break throughs, seems

like he's a different child. What a relief!

I've heard so many great stories on here, which I've have been so

grateful for and so glad for many of you, now, finally, here's a success

story for our Josiah.

Thanks for sharing and caring!

Lesa

For awhile, I was getting these digests are a series of e-mails - now they're

coming as downloads. I really prefer to get them not as downloads, but just

the digest that I can see immediately when I open my digest e-mail.

Is there anything special I need to do?

Thanks,

Melinda

Hi Tig and Tara,

Thanks to you both for the suggestions. I loaned my original LL video to a

friend and when I get it back I will pick out some exercises that I think

will work my areas that need it most. For now I will do the other video (#1).

I also realize that I have been eating late at night. My husband gets off

work late and I have been eating with him. I'll have to cook dinner earlier

for me and the reheat it for him when he gets home. Also, I hadn't been

having dairy for quite awhile and lately I've had some here and there which

adds up. I guess I just need to get back on track and I will start losing

again. By the way, what is BBB that I have seen listers refer to? I'll try to

post more than I have. Like most everyone else,

I've been busy, busy, busy!

Hi Melinda,

Go to LL's main page and hit " Modify " , then hit " send daily digest of

messages " , then hit " Save Changes " . I hope this helps!

Have a great Sunday!

Love, Liz

Dear ,

Some of the bottle companies and even the dollar store you can find plastic

jars for your milk bath. That may be another option other than glass or

cello bags.

I am mostly a lurker because I have little to contribute being so new to

making toiletries. I want to tell everyone how much I enjoy this list and

everyone that shares.

So, I though I would share a disaster and kind of a cautionary tale for

newbies like myself.

I was asked by my friend's daughter to make her some moisturize. I was

flattered and scared to death never having made moisturizer before only

balms and salves. So, I began formulating and reformulating and even

ordered a few eo's to make it special. I kept her waiting - not a good

thing - but told her I was waiting for the eo's to arrive, all true. Well,

they arrived. And I was going to my friend's home that night! I wanted to

bring the lotion.

My scale is a simple digital scale. I bought it about a year ago. And as

I began to weigh items I knew that the amounts looked odd. Then I noticed

that the amounts were not being registered by the scale. I'd weigh and

weigh again. And when I got 3 weighs that were the same I assumed that all

was well. Hmmmmm. Little did I know that all was not well.

I mixed and blended and the lotion smelled great and felt great warm. But

then it cooled. And then it became a new form of aromatherapy rubber!

My friend's daughter bought her moisturizer and I now have a mysterious

recipe for a new substance as of yet known to man.

I was told when I bought my scale (from folks who only sell scales) that it

would rarely need to be calibrated. I talked to some soapers and was

informed otherwise.

Moral of this tale - always calibrate your scales - always!

Thank you all for listening,

Anjeanne :-)

What is the average time that most of you on this site got sick from your implants? Do you believe that after 6 or even 8 years women can still get ill or do most of you believe that if you don't get sick right off then you most likely won't ever get ill.

1-) For me it was about 4 years. I do believe though, that it depends on the person's chemistry make-up, as to when they feel the effects. That's sort of like asking a person, that's just been told they have cancer, How long have you had it, or when did you get it. No one knows for sure. A chemical that may react faster to me, may not act as fast to other's. Then again, we have things going on in our bodies, that we don't even know about, until it shows up on x-rays or blood work but again not knowing how long ago the beginning was. My outer shells were gone, when the PS went in to remove the Implants. Who knows when they started too degenerate inside of me?

Could have been a month or could have waited for 15 years...it just waited eleven, before I knew about it. Then it was too late!

2-) A highly reputable DR told someone I know that if she had not gotten ill after 6 years chances were she never would,

.... I don't mean this to be ugly, but this Dr. would not be reputable enough for me! There seems to be a lot of them around, but we 'Breast Implant Women' that are sick, can't seem to find them, when we need them.

3-) like allot of women are in fact able to have implants without getting ill like we have

True...but their time isn't up yet, either.....I do believe it will get them sooner or later. For us, it was just sooner. No-one can sell me on Silicone, with the fact that some aren't sick.............YET! YET is the kicker in my opinion.

4-) If there were a way to test before hand who is susceptible and who isn't I guess implants could still be used safely

If there was/is a way, the Manufact. and PS would never let 'THAT CAT OUT OF THE BAG'.....they'd go broke and not be able to sell/make money.

REMEMBER: THIS IS MY OPINION......NOT to make anyone mad. And by the way........My OTHER opinion.....is..IT's A DOW eat WOMEN WORLD!!! I mean DOG eat DOG! tee hee

Let me hear from ya; I bet we could have lots to talk about. Much Love and Prayers! Hope you had a pain free, well and happy Labor Day! I didn't.

This is my aggreement too, I believe eventually most women are going

to have probs with implants. I know a woman who has had silicone gel

for 13 years and she says she is fine, just has some bursitis in her

shoulder,, she is 39 years old but thinks that it is normal and says

it runs in her family......some women are in denial about it too. I

was for awhile.

Thanks

Notice the indication covered by Aetna in this policy manual. You can also

Policy

The medical literature supports the use of systemic hyperbaric oxygen therapy

(HBOT) in the treatment of a wide range of disorders. Aetna covers hyperbaric

oxygen therapy as medically necessary for the following conditions:

Non-healing infected deep ulcerations (reaching tendons or bone) of the lower

extremity in diabetic adults unresponsive to at least 1 month of meticulous

wound care (including aggressive debridement, maximal antibiotic therapy,

tight glycemic control, and appropriate treatment of arterial insufficiency,

including revascularization if necessary). Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is not

indicated for superficial lesions

Acute carbon monoxide poisoning

Decompression illness (“the bendsâ€)

Acute air or gas embolism

Gas gangrene (Clostridial myositis and myonecrosis)

Cyanide poisoning (with co-existing carbon monoxide poisoning)

Acute traumatic peripheral ischemia (including crush injuries and suturing of

severed limbs) when loss of function, limb, or life is threatened and when

HBOT is used in combination with standard therapy, and not as a replacement

Acute peripheral arterial insufficiency (e.g., compartment syndrome)

Jim,

Hang in there buddy. I know you are miserable - I am too right now, but I

believe there is hope for you somewhere. I don't know if Medicare allows one to

travel out of state for medical care. I think that would probably be the

place to start. Once you know that, maybe you could go to the Scoliosis

Research

Society site & see what they have listed under revision surgeons. They don't

have a complete list, but it is a place to start. I know that you said you

didn't have scoliosis, but you do have flatback, & the corrective surgery you

need will be basically the same whether you have scoliosis or not. If you find

out that Medicare WILL let you travel, and if you are still ambulatory, there

is an organization called Angel Flight who flies patients to out of state

medical appointments for free. They do fly small planes, usually 4 to 6 seats.

Hope this helps. God bless.

With Blessings & Love,

Carla Kay
