Guest guest
FYI: My letter of thanks to producers of " Law and Order " ~Dawn From: " Dawn Rider " <israelswarrior@...> LawOrderSVU@... Subject: BRAVO on you September 30, 2003 Episode!!!! Date: Wed, 01 Oct 2003 04:49:04 -0600 To Whom it May Concern, RE: http://www.nbc.com/Law_ & _Order:_Special_Victims_Unit/episode_guide/index.html I want to extend my sincerest gratitude and admiration to the producers and any others who made the September 30, 2003 episode of " Law and Order / Special Victims Unit " possible. I have been working with various persons and organizations for the past two and a half years to try and get this very urgent matter out to the public, and I am sure that your program of this evening has done more to open the eyes (of a mostly unassuming public), than our best efforts combined! I watched in surprise and wonderment as the show progressed, hitting upon almost every urgent report that has been released, yet not readily accepted by most who find it difficult to accept that pharmaceutical firms are in the business of " disease making " rather than in promoting health and wellness. I don't mean to sound cynical, and I am not against modern medicine - indeed, there are still honest men and women who do their best, and pharmaceutical products which I will forever be grateful for - but I know from many hours of personal research that greed has snuffed out some of the best efforts of some of our brightest medical doctors and researchers and even some of the most creative minds in the media and legal arenas. Will it be possible to obtain either a copy of this program in VHS Video or DVD format, or will a complete transcript of this program be available? I would very much like to use this program as an educational tool; it is very much suited to helping others understand what is really going on - especially for those who don't have time to delve into serious research and for those disinclined to do the work to educate themselves. This program will save innocent lives, and if I had any say about it, I would certainly nominate this program for the highest award(s) in public broadcasting and truthful portrayal of a very real and present danger to society. I attempted to find an email address for Dick Wolf, executive producer of " Law and Order " , but was only able to find his website- sans email address So, would you be so kind as to forward my note of appreciation to him? It is simply amazing to me that while Paxil and Effexor (two newer SSRI antidepressant drugs), have been banned for use in children, Prozac recently received official FDA approval to be prescribed for children ages eight and up. I'd like to know who paid off who to accomplish this dastardly act... I would like to share with you just a couple of my own personal contributions in my efforts which align with yours: http://www.petitiononline.com/lilpro http://www.cultureshocktv.com/internews/2002/may21200200171.shtml I urge you to replay this episode as often as good wisdom will allow. I must confess that I rarely watch any television at all these days; I have spent as much as my discretionary time as possible in my efforts to warn others of the dangers which accompany all psychiatric drugs - and yet, by a small miracle, or perhaps fate - my fiance caught a glimpse of your program, and knew immediately that I would be interested in viewing it. How very right he was! These are the points I picked up from the episode: 1. Millions of children are being prescribed potentially dangerous psychiatric drugs. 2. HMOs are increasingly unwilling to pay for traditional counseling therapy. 3. Legal drugs are being abused and sold on school grounds the same as illegal street drugs. 4. Schools are threatening children with expulsion if they don’t get the medication they “need”. 5. Good mental health care is costly. Parents, especially single parents, feel backed into a corner. 6. Drug firms are resorting to unethical marketing schemes to keep drug sales high. 7. Psychiatric drugs can induce serious, even life threatening reactions in a percentage of patients. 8. And finally, this episode made me realize that the truth of this terrible, tragic situation has caught the interest of those who have the means to educate the public, and further our efforts for change. And, other than blurring the lines between Prozac and Ritalin a bit, you were right on!!! I've sent notice of your most excellent episode to my associates around the world. An attorney in the United Kingdom suggested that I contact UK media and request that this episode be made available for screening there. So, thank you, thank you and thank you a million more times!!!
