Guest guest
Joi, Everyone has different reactions to surgery- I had pinched nerves and bone spurs that I only found out about when I was involved in a hit-and-run car accident, I had been experiencing tingling in my arm, loss of strength, and couldn't move my arm around my back, or roll up car window. Also pain. I had a neck fusion done, which really helped me, went to PT-went to my final check-up for that issue, and had the car accident. I had to have an arthroscopy done on my left arm-they didn't know if something had been done to the rotator cuff, they cleared up the bone spurs and pinched nerves, and another round of PT, and I feel great now. You just don't ever have a guarantee that things can be fixed for you-but I felt I had to take a chance. I'm 55, and am still young enough to want to be able to have a half-way normal life. It won't happen as I'm disabled due to back problems, but in my case, my neck and arm problems were fixed, I know not everyone is as fortunate. Just thought you should hear both sides. Hope you find a way to get better- Sincerely, Jeannie ________________________________

Guest guest
hi Annie, Me too. I am now aching all over and trying to figure out why so I can put a name on it. I haven't even had any surgery yet or injections. My neurosurgeon sent out a letter that he won't be practicing anymore, whatever. I got disgusted with the letter and didn't finish reading it. I was so happy I cried when I first got an appt to see him that now I am really depressed that nothing is going right for me. I want to bang my head against the wall. Bad time to quit smoking. Anyways, hang in there and if you want to write me in private to someone to talk to my email is foxycol63@... It really sucks when you can't even walk. I am having a very hard time walking and am using a cane for now. When I do go out I use many pills, so, you get the drift. We are here for you, hang in there, gentle hugs, Coleen ________________________________ From: Ann Wood Fuller <gatorma1@...> neck pain Sent: Thu, December 3, 2009 1:52:31 AM Subject: Re: Re: REAL pain in the neck/shoulder!!! Guest guest
Coleen, Here's how I'd look at this situation with your doctors and the procedure you missed out on. I'd say to myself that for some reason this particular doctor or this particular procedure at this time was not the right thing for me. I don't believe things happen as a coincidence, there's a reason for what happens and maybe it's a good thing and you'll find a better doctor and a better way to control your pain. Maybe you averted having a bad reaction or side effect because things didn't go just how you wanted them to go. Stopping smoking, well it's a fantastic time to quit, it's not easy anytime but it's worth the aggravation.
