Yep, that is my thought as well. However, I'm not an M.D., so I'm having a

hard time keeping my mouth shut....as I don't want to risk a lawsuit. I

can't very well recommend that he stop taking the medication as I am not a

medical doctor, but maybe if I educate myself on Serzone I can pass that

information on to my client?

Thank you for the suggested web searches and reading materials. I will

definitely look into them. It's nice to know that some people on the list

are welcoming and understand that I am new to the field of mental health and

want to learn more about he effects of SSRI. Why I am being attacked is

beyond me! I'm on your side! What a friendly world we live in!!!! Thank you

again for being so kind :)

Yeah, I know, Pam. Unfortunately, because I'm not a medical doctor, I

cannot give medical advice. However, I can suggest for him to do research on

Serzone and consult with a doctor about his findings and concerns.....assuming

he

has concerns after he does some research.

Hi, and welcome to our group!

I would suggest that in using the Google you go to scholar.google.com and it

should take you to the Physician Desk Reference and other medical publications

when you type in the drug name. You can also go to http://www.drugawareness.org

and type in the drug name as a search term ... they have a wealth of information

there you could print out and share with your patient's family. A helpful book

to read on the subject of the overprescription of antidepressants is Dr. ph

Glenmullen's book Prozac Backlash, and he has a sequel that helps people who

want to get off antidepressants. Whitaker's Mad in America is another one well

worth your time to look into. It is good that you want to learn from families

and friends who have been on these drugs and can tell you about the adverse

events they've had -- more like Hell, while taking them. A lot of them have

lost loved ones to suicide while they were on these drugs so they are

understandably angry about what has happened to them. This is a good place to

come and learn, and there is an ssri-research group that is articles only if

you're looking more for information. A lot of it will come from mainstream news

and dispute the chemical imbalance theory of mental illness. Hope it helps and

please keep us posted.

gab,

seems to me you might be risking a lawsuit for NOT recommending he go off

the Serzone.[ BTW,* tapering *off is the safest way to go off.] what if the

guy loses his cool and hurts someone or himself? i can see yu being held

responsible for NOT at least advising him to consider that the serzone is

pushing him over the edge? you already told us the guys been taking serzone

for 14 years and he's getting scary to his family while on the drug that's

supposed *help* him.

You need to understand that a lot of good folks here have suffered

grevious loss as a result of their/their loved ones taking a

psychotropic drug.

Please don't view " pain " as rudeness.

Please do be patient with our members & who knows you can sow some

seeds that will prevent pain in your client/patient group

Gab,

Some places to look for a doctor or naturopathic doctor that might help:

www.alternativementalhealth.com

www.acam.org

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en & q=serzone+liver+failure+deaths & btnG=Google+Se\

arch

The last is a google search for liver failure deaths from serzone. It's got

to be bad if the lawyers are all over it.
