Guest guest
Terry, I just got home now. I hit the protest for a few hours this am, but work was calling! I have pics if you want I'll email them to you. About 40 people yesterday and when I left today about 25 with more expected. No media coverage as of 11am today. I'll write something up and post it here. All in all, it was worth it, even with the low turnout. I can tell you that we are on MANY tourists videos! Congressman Fergusons(NJ-R) Senior Aide came out yesterday to speak to the group(we had arranged that ahead of time) and he was visably moved by the stories. We're pushing him to sponsor a bill in the house similar to the Grassley/dodd bill. Consumers Union sent out two of their lobbyists out to meet everyone. They're currently working on the " Prescription for Change " campaign, which is lobbying for the Grassley/Dodd bill on congress. State that were represented were N.J., N.Y.,Mass,Montana,SC,Texas,Alabama,California(I'm sure there were more, but I can't think right now. Juveniles for Justice were also there. The Torkalsons were there also. We really need to get more attendance for more visibility, but this was a good start. > Will someone (lsyorke, etc.) who is in D.C. please check in this morning and let us know how it is going? Any media bites? Where exactly are you located? I am trolling around for " newstip " email addresses for a wide variety of media and letting them know about the protest. (Heard from CNN - standard form letter - blah, blah, blah.) > > GIve me some facts and numbers (a story someone has written while in DC, who is there, new stories, something to get people's attention) and I will try to get out a " News Release " to who ever I can find to read it. > > ROCK ON! > > Terry > > > --------------------------------- > Start your day with - make it your home page > >

Guest guest
Was in DC today, will be there tomorrow. CU was there, talked to a few people. A reporter was there also, but I dont know who she represented. Nick took his friend Lori, they enjoyed protesting, and they met Mr Ben Stein. He took a few mins to talk to the teens. He said he supported them in their cause. It was one of the highlights of their day. Another highlight was meeting a tourist who now lives in spain. He came from Columbia, and was visiting with friends. He wanted a Photo of the group, and he asked if he could pose with us. I handed him a sign, and he was thrilled. He asked to borrow it, and he walked up and down in front of the White House, and his Spanish friends took photos. He thanked us and explained he would NEVER be able to do that in Columbia. Not a good report on everything that happened, but it took us two hours to get home, and It is midnight. I will get a report out again tomorrow if no one else does. Maggs. __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Maggs, what time did you get there today? Yesterday we have a videographer from Noll(sp?). He's a radio personality from the NY area. He's also done a documentary on " Drugging the children " which isn't out yet. > > Was in DC today, will be there tomorrow.
