The web addy for Rob's site is SSRICitizen.org. If you are in communication

with The Rutherford Institute you might want to suggest that they look at his

information contained on that site. Yates was on high doses of Remeron

and a double-maximum dose of Effexor, and just prior to that she had been on

Haldol and was abruptly taken off the drug without a wash-out period before

being doped on the other two meds. If you looked at the drugs she had been

prescribed over the years that she was supposedly suffering from PPD, you start

to

see that most of what she was experiencing was actually either side effects

from the drugs or withdrawal symptoms. was on Prozac at the time

she killed her children. There have been very few cases like this where the

mother was NOT on psychiatric drugs. We've had several similar cases in Denver

over the past couple of years, and they all involved SSRIs.

Because there has been a vast cover-up of these incidents and how they relate

to these womens' use of psych meds. The standard response in the papers is

" if the person had ONLY been taking their medication as prescribed, this

wouldnt have happened. " It's always blamed on the mental illness, as in

Yates's case. And remember until just recently Big Pharma consistently denied

that these drugs caused suicide or homicide. We now know they have been lying

through their teeth for 20 years.

Glitter, thanks for the info and will definitely tell them about the

website. Could you provide me with links to info about both the

Yeats and cases including links to books that would go into more

detail about their SSRI drug history? I think it's appalling that they just

prosecuted these women and tried them in the public press without bringing

this information to the public's attention. I share the view of another

post to this group that all the major news networks especially all the

programs like " 20-20 " should have been exposing this.

Ann probably has this info listed on her drugawareness.org site. I

don't know of any books off the top of my head that deal with this directly.

With so much propaganda about how the illness is the reason these women did what

they did, it will probably take some time before these cases are re-examined

with a view toward what violent impulses these drugs induced. Heretofore, all

the " experts " who testified in these cases were babbling about their mental

illnesses and not pointing the wagging finger of blame at the high doses of mind

dope they were on. Do you remember the Betty Broderick case? The rich

socialite in San Diego who shot her husband and his girlfriend in cold blood.

She

was on Prozac too and when she describes the incident, you KNOW the state of

unreality she was in because of the drug.

Yes, I remember the Betty Broderick case and read the book about it as well

as seeing it on Court TV but, with what you told me I may reread it with a

fresh eye to her description of the murders. In all this I'm wondering if,

based on all the new information that has recently come out these women

couldn't seek evidentiary hearings in their cases. You're right that even

the experts for the defense in the Yates and cases didn't

bring to light what these drugs were doing to these women, which they

definitely outght to have! I'll check out Dr. 's site for the info you

mentioned.
