Guest guest
I just heard from one of my co-workers that a 20 year old boy hung himself two days ago because his girlfriend broke up with him. Apparently he was dating her and she broke up with him at the begining of the summer. He was under tx (we all know what that means) for depression. He sent an email to friend stating " Don't play hang man, its a killer " , went into the garage and hung himself. Of coure they wil never blame the med since he was depressed before ging on it. Guest guest
If the coroner does his/her job and does a toxicology report and the drug is present then I think that's enough to get an investigation going. Autopsy reports are public record in the US. Jim I just heard from one of my co-workers that a 20 year old boy hung himself two days ago because his girlfriend broke up with him. Guest guest
Jim: This is something I had never thought about. We did not have an autopsy done on B.J. - our coroner told us it wasn't necessary as the cause of death was obvious - fractured neck. Arkansas doesn't have a law requiring one for suicides unless the cause of death is uncertain. Our lawyers have never asked about it. Do you think this will be an issue in court? Guest guest
I checked and it varies from state to state but you might check it out. The thing you want is IF the medical examiner did a toxicology report. If he did do those tests then you might find something to help your case. We had a local journalist hang himself and he was known to be taking Paxil, we got the report and it didn't show anything we could use but of course we had to check. Guest guest
My son was taken directly from our home to the funeral home and then the next morning directly to the crematorium. No exam other than at our home - and then only by sight and feel. No tests of any kind, no lab, no xrays, no nothing. I personally do not want an autopsy performed on me, if at all avoidable, and felt the same way about my son. But the coroner took the lead and told me it wasn't necessary. I guess I can haul his butt into court and have him testify to that fact. We live in a very small community, our son was well-known and much loved by everyone of all ages and positions and I'm sure that they were trying to spare my feelings as much as possible. In fact, the coroner had been our daughter's softball coach for a couple of years and he had helped us raise money for B.J. and me to travel to Chicago for the National Junior Olympics a few years earlier. Plus we have a law that says that if someone is to be cremated, it must be done withing 24-hours or else they have to be embalmed - something else I abhor. Time will tell, I guess.
