They've changed the definition of depression so that any aches and pains are really a sign of mental illness and require an antidepressant. I know, it's how I wound up on Paxil when I really needed shoulder reconstruction and nearly two years of rehab after surgery. So this poor kid, who should've gone to a massage therapist for his lower back pain, blows his brains out because some quack thinks that an antidepressant will fix him right up. I'd love to get the name of this doctor and give him a piece of my paxilated mind!! " Blind Reason " a novel of pharmaceutical intrigue Think your antidepressant is safe? Think again. It's Unsafe At Any Dose
Guest guest
Don't blame you ... it's horrible how some doctors actually refuse to take seriously that when a patient is in pain, there's something wrong, duh, otherwise the patient wouldn't be there. I heard of a book a few years ago about how doctors, male and female, don't take seriously the pain experienced by women patients. To me it all comes down to shoddy diagnosis and just plain carelessness because the doctor in the Oregon kid's case failed to get to the root of the pain, instead prescribing an antidepressant. My heart goes out to that poor kid's family and to anyone else who gets kicked to the curb in this way.
