Guest guest
Hi nne. My first question for you would be have you tried Magnesium supplements??? I was REALLY sick from my withdrawal and it kept getting much worse to include stuff like Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Nothing seemed to help until i started using Magnesium regularly. SSRIs heavily deplete Mg and its hard to recover from without taking supps. much love to you Beverly > Hi I am new to this group. My name is nne. I am a victim of paxil and I really would like to know if anyone else inthis world has suffered to the extent that I have , I feel that I have permanent damage. I started paxil dec 96 and by the time I weaned off it was 0ct 98. IT took 8 months to wean off the 10 mg. I had EVERY symptom of withdrawl . ( I also had side effects about 2-4 weeks into starting the drug.butthe dr. told me that as long as It stopped the anxiety then it was a normal side effect.. i.e. 200 muscle twitches a hr. dizziness , they said I had an inner ear virus .. it couldnt be caused by the paxill but from then on it for all the time I felt like I was rocking on a rocky rocky boat and balance was off ) So to continue , I got off and then the symptoms of withdrawl got even worse.. I was at work andit felt like the floor dropped out from under me, cold sweats, neasea etc. since then my whole vestibular system is messed up .. I even started getting vertigo when I rolled over in bed at times ( not always , very inconsistent ) I get g forces in my head etc.. To this day 5 years later I still have many of the neurological withdrawl symptoms , and also the vestibulay.. I have lost my job , cant do it anymore , and my husband..so I am now a single mom.. trying to find a new career that I can possibly do with my illness. ( I also have now developed fibro/chronic fatigue symptoms from the stress I believe.. also the insomnia that came with the withdrawl is still here.. I now only sleep 1 1/2 hrs at a time. All the dr.s wanted me to go on yet more drugs.. I have refused and done every de tox .every herb you name it accupunture healing touch. you name it.. nothing has helped. Does anyone relate or am I alone in this .. And what can I do.. Does this Paxil cause permanent brain damage.. please let me know you thoughts.. nne > >

Guest guest
> Dear beverly , Thank you for your reply, I would like to know what type and brand and how much you took.. I have taken it at times and for a long time before but maybe not enough.. thank you nne Turquoisesky's post just reminded of the excellent forum for SSRI withdrawal run by naturopathic doctor Creel - called Withdrawal_and_Recovery, it is part of groups. Glitter sometimes moderates for this happy group of campers.
