Stop Plugging Program

Regarding " The Shared Tragedy Of Teen Suicide " (Our Opinion, Dec. 23):

While Tony Dungy and his family have my heartfelt sympathy for the tragedy they

are experiencing, I feel it is bad taste to throw in a plug for the

controversial and scientifically unproven TeenScreen program.

The favorite solution of victims of the TeenScreen/TMAP type program is

prescription drugs.

We all know of the suicide warnings issued by the FDA for these antidepression

drugs.

But I feel it is appropriate to just report the news and not plug the drug

industry's latest money-making scheme.
