This was sent to me from Barry who is a legal and medical ethics

professional in the United Kingdom. I hope that you appreciate his words as

much

as I do.

May God Bless the America we continually must renew, restore, reconstruct

and protect. The one that is good, and the one that is right.

We can know it, because it is the one our children our safe within.

I think that it is very important that the next time Dan Troy of the FDA or

any other self styled " upholder of Consitutional rights " has the audacity to

refer to the Constitution to defend his friends in the drug industry that our

side blasts back at him the very words of the Constitution designed to protect

the people from the state. I find it remarkable that it is me, an Englishman

that has to preach to Americans about what that Constitution was written for.

When the FDA speaks up for drug companies it does so against the will of the

people. It does so in the knowledge that Americans are being harmed by

activities which are disgraceful, unconstitutional and even criminal. When the

FDA

speaks up for those who make profit out of damaging Americans IT IS

UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

As for his suggestion that the right to advertise tobacco and drugs is a

right of free speech. The First Amendment was never written to allow

unscrupulous

businessmen to propagate their message and sell their wares. It was written

to ensure that the American people were free and most of all that they were

informed. Freedom of speech enshrines the right to tell people what they DON'T

want to know, It enshrines the right to be INFORMED. Including being informed

of dangers. Freedom of speech was never enshrined in the US Constitution to

allow lying. No one in the US has any right to LIE to the people of America.

The Federal Trade Comission should perhaps be given remit over prescription drug

advertising as it has over OTC drugs. Then the Truth in Advertising Laws

could be invoked against those who see fit to lie by omission in drug

advertising

The FDA is part of government and the founding fathers of the US and authors

of the Constitution intended government to serve the people, not the CEO's of

big business against the rights, aspirations and safety of the people.

All of those who are courageously speaking out against the disgraceful,

detestable and contemptible activities of drug companies, who place marketing

their

products above their customers and patients safety, are the real upholders of

the Constitution exercising Free Speech as it was meant to be. To Keep

Americans informed. In Free Speech the FDA has failed. The FDA is as the

Constitution says A Form of Government that has becomes destructive of these

(Constitutional) ends. Assisting the drug companies to hide what everyone has a

right to know is as unconstitional as it gets. Put this to all those Senators

who share our concerns and claim back the Constitution from people like Troy.
