Guest guest
What?!?!? What the hell is a helpless mouse? How can one tell if the control mice are also " helpless " ? Do they have keys to their cages and money, thereby they are not " helpless " ? What kind of quackery is this? Not a pseudoscience my a**! Back to a question much bandied about earlier this week - how do they test for these levels of proteins? http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2006-01/niom-nda010306.php " A protein that seems to be pivotal in lifting depression has been discovered by a Nobel Laureate researcher funded by the National Institutes of Health's National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). " and " This finding led the researchers to suspect that p11 levels might be directly involved in the development of depression, anxiety and similar psychiatric illnesses thought to involve faulty serotonin receptors. To test this idea, the researchers examined p11 levels in the brains of depressed humans and " helpless " mice, considered a model of depression since they exhibit behaviors similar to those of depressed humans. They compared these two groups to non-depressed humans and control mice. " --------------------------------- DSL Something to write home about.
