Does anyone have an idea of where I can find a good pediatrition in MN. Do I really need one for anything because I will not vaccinate. My baby is due in 4 weeks and I have made out a birthing plan, hoping it is respected. I am having a hard time with the vitamin k shot they give at birth, any insight will be helpful. I understand that babies do not produce vitamin k in the first week of life as we do, so they are defficiant. I have read that the shot may be linked to childhood lukemia. It is my understanding that it is a rather high does and there is an oral dose available. I am in a new relationship with a man who's son had lukemia, was diognosed at age 5 so I will not have the shot given to our son. The father wants to have our son circumsized and I have a feeling they will try to

force me to the injection because of its purpose for blood clotting, or refuse the procedure. Can anyone help me figure out how to handle this one. Does anyone have an opinion on the oral dose?

Thank you

Some doctors are taking a tough stand, asking vaccine-refusing parents to find other doctors and calling such parents "selfish." A statement from a group practice near Philadelphia outlines its doctors' adamant support for government-recommen ded immunizations and their belief that "vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities." "Furthermore, by not vaccinating your child you are taking selfish advantage of thousands of other who do vaccinate their children. . . . We feel such an attitude to be self-centered and unacceptable," the statement says, urging those who "absolutely refuse" vaccines to find another physician. "We call it the manifesto," said Bradley Dyer, a physician at All Star Pediatrics in Lionville, Pa. http://www.washingt onpost.com/ wp-dyn/content/ article/2010/ 02/28/AR20100228 04411.html? wprss=rss_ health

as for circumcision and vitamin k. if you do the circumcision on the 8th day there will be enough vit. k in a healthy boy to have the blood clot. apparently the body has more vit k on the 8th day then at any other time. From: joy104s@...

just eat more raw green as salad or drink fresh green vegetable organic juices until you are ready to deliver. Let your body and the fetus convert the nutrients into what ever is needed. The usual time the baby is circumcised is before discharge usual on the second or third day. Done right, there should not be any bleeding problem specially if a gumco clamp is used. You may need to discuss the procedure with your OB_GYne doctor or your primary providers specially if he or she is a Family medicine doc.I guess your concern is also about the Hep B vaccine. You need to discuss this issue with who ever will deliver you. This is the best time to voice your concerns and make your option known.Rolando Arafiles, MDFrom: BELINDA CARR <pinqlady57@...>no-forced-vaccination Sent: Tue, March 2, 2010 2:23:05 PMSubject: RE: Manifesto??? Thank you all for your comments. The hep B is out of the question, it is my request to only have the PUK blood test done and in my presence. There is no need for them to take the baby out of the room unless there is an emergency. My main concern was the vitamin K shot.

Thank you all for your comments. The hep B is out of the question, it is my request to only have the PUK blood test done and in my presence. There is no need for them to take the baby out of the room unless there is an emergency. My main concern was the vitamin K shot.

..I guess your concern is also about the Hep B vaccine. You need to discuss this issue with who ever will deliver you. This is the best time to voice your concerns and make your option known.Rolando Arafiles, MDIt is best to make a birth plan and NEVER leave your infant alone as it is done automatically - they assume blanket permission because you are thereSheri

Most parents back vaccines, though many believe autism link - washingtonpost. com as for circumcision and vitamin k. if you do the circumcision on the 8th day there will be enough vit. k in a healthy boy to have the blood clot. apparently the body has more vit k on the 8th day then at any other time.

From: joy104s (DOT) com Does anyone have an idea of where I can find a good pediatrician in MN. Do I really need one for anything because I will not vaccinate. My baby is due in 4 weeks and I have made out a birthing plan, hoping it is respected. I am having a hard time with the vitamin k shot they give at birth, any insight will be helpful. I understand that babies do not produce vitamin k in the first week of life as we do, so they are deficient. I have read that the shot may be linked to childhood leukemia. It is my understanding that it is a rather high does and there is an oral dose available. I am in a new relationship with a man who's son had leukemia, was diagnosed at age 5 so I will not have the shot given to our son. The father wants to have our son circumsized and I have a feeling they will try to force me to the injection because of its purpose for blood clotting, or refuse the procedure. Can anyone help me
