Originally CF-102 was being tested for anti-cancer properties, but in May the company observed the drop in hepatitis-C viral load. Based on the outcome and safety profile of CF-102, Can-Fite said, it expanded its trial to hepatitis-C patients to see the effect of the drug over time.
