Guest guest
Hullo Mara, Sounds like yer doing pretty much the right things. Just give them alot of love and sunligh, excersize and fun, chewable vitamens, vit C everyday (more when the body is challanged) good food and water, and buy non-fluouridated tooth products, or make them yourself. Find that homeopath too if the ped falls thru. Search engine everything you can on childcare and wellness in the non-vaccinated child. Will send you a great site for some other problems you might encounter. And remember, that is fever is a good thing, but push fluids and vit C. Fevers mean the body's immune system is working as it should be, not immuno-compromised from vaccines myriad of after-affects http://www.earthclinic.com/index.html Are you having any trouble with your states vaccine exemptions? Glad Day ~ Karla in IL This excerpt is from a link that was posted in the past day or so. http://www.vaccination.inoz.com/ Immunizations” do not immunize! They do the exact opposite The term “immunization” (US, Canada) or "immunisation" (UK, Australia, NZ), often substituted for the term "vaccination", is false and should not be used in place of "vaccination", because it is well documented in medical research (see articles within) that vaccination, the direct injection of foreign proteins and other toxic material (particularly known immune-sensitising poisons such as mercury) sensitises, meaning makes the recipient more, not less, susceptible, i.e. more easily affected, by what he/she encounters in the future. This means that vaccines do the opposite of immunise, commonly even preventing immunity from developing after natural exposure, in which cases vaccine recipients have gone on to contract the disease not even just once, but several times. (Vaccines "de-immunize".) New, more serious forms of the diseases (e.g. atypical measles) are also now appearing, only in the vaccinated. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. We also ate halibut and salmon about once a month or even less. We never had any shots, drugs or man-made chemicals of any kind (that includes toothpaste, mouthwash, asprin, antacid etc). My parents owned several health food stores before I was born in Southern California. My Dad was also a distributor of health care products...juice machines, supplements etc. My mother made fresh carrot and green juice every day after school. We always started our morning out with fresh fruit or fruit juice (not canned or any other type of cooked fruit juice product). Then, we would wait at least 30 minutes to allow the cleansing affects of the fruit to do it's work on our bodies...before we would have the rest of our breakfast...which might be whole wheat cereal with honey or oatmeal etc. We were only allowed to eat cold cereal as a treat. On rare occasions...we would have shredded wheat or grapenuts with honey or even less often...corn flakes or other processed "dead" food cereals...not for breakfast though...it was a treat...maybe a snack later in the day! Having cold cereal was at the most about once a month treat. We NEVER had white flour or white flour products in our home. We NEVER had white sugar or white sugar products in our home. Because wheat grass and alfalfa sprouts were not available in the stores...my mother grew them at home for us to eat. It was common for us to eat salad sandwiches on whole wheat bread for lunch. And IF we had a peanut butter and honey sandwich in our lunch...it was considered the dessert! We would eat it AFTER we ate the other sandwich first! We never had soda pop, potato chips or any snack foods in our home. My husband and I raised our children the same way I was raised...until we made the switch to mostly vegan in 1995 (we do eat some raw local honey on occasion). WARNING: The following info can seem disgusting to some people! When any of us gets sick (which is very rare) we fast (either on water or juices and/or herbs). We also take enemas to clean out the system...and eliminate fevers. Usually, when something is going around...IF our immune systems are weak and we do get sick...our experience is much milder than the rest of the community. If everyone else in the community is sick in bed for a week...we might get a sniffle or cough (or some other mild symptom) for a day or two. It is a very rare occasion when we are sick in bed...for no more than a day or so. When our children had the chicken pox (I don't remember my experience...other than the fact that I had them when I was about 8)...they just had the pox on the skin...no fever or any feeling of being sick. But, since I was pregnant with my youngest during that time...she did not get the chicken pox until she was 14. It was a lot more inconvenient for her. She could not go anywhere for 3 weeks. She did not get very sick though...just embarrased by the marks! I was about 9 when I had the mumps...and I had the symptoms for only one day! We are all unique and different. Guest guest
I have a couple of books to recommend purchasing. These two books have worked well for us. They are: Natural Remedies Encyclopedia by Vance Ferrell and Harold M. Cherne, M.D. and Natural Healthcare for Your Child by Phyllis Austin, Agatha Thrash, and Calvin Thrash. These are great resources to use whenever you face all sorts of problems. I also boost my kids' immune systems by using Barley Life, Echinacea, Vitamin C, and lots of healthy raw foods. We are not vaccinating our children after our oldest has had what I now believe is vaccine injury, and we are now currently recovering her. I am sure that all parents who are new to the idea of not vaccinating also want to have some sort of game plan for if their children catch diseases. Does anyone know of a good book or link or other resource(s) with this information? I am trying to compile a list of information in a binder so I can get to it quickly just in case one of my children do come down with one of these diseases. I can't ask my parents what to do because they never had to deal with any of these diseases as we were vaccinated as kids. I would love to see a book come out with this sort of information. As of now, our plan is to do all we can to raise our kids' immune systems to the most optimal level so their bodies can be most fully equipped and armed to deal with anything. We also have a better pediatrician (now), we've recently become patients of a wonderful chiropractor who also specializes in natural health, and I plan to get my family in touch with a reputable homeopath from our area as soon as we're able to afford it.Thanks for any insight and advice.~ Mara Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
All awesome advice here! I'd just like to add that on top of a good homeopath or naturopath, I cannot express how highly I recommend good chiropractic care as a part of a child's wellness care. I take my kiddos a couple times a month and I really see a difference in their behavior as well as their health. My completely unvaxed two-year-old can shed an ear infection (the only one he's ever gotten) in a few HOURS after seeing the chiro, and my two-week-old stopped screaming during every bowel movement after his first adjustment. I had him adjusted at 2 days old, because of the bowel thing... my chiro made a home visit, BLESS HIM! He just got his second adjustment yesterday and he is so content! My toddler always makes it a point to tell me how good he feels after his adjustments. From the back seat of my car: My son: " Mama? " Me: " What honey? " My son: " I better now! " And he beams a smile at me in the mirror! The other supp I add to the vitamins for immune health is probiotics. I like " Udo's Choice Infant's Probiotics " -- good for toddlers, too. It's powdered and you can put it in anything. You can find it various places online (google it) or if you have a Whole Foods near you, you can find it in the refrigerated section of the supplement section.
