Celebrex

The recent revelations about the health hazards of over-the-counter

and prescription drugs have coughed up a bunch of searches. The

oblong blue pills in the Aleve bottle took the latest hit due to a

warning of increased risk of stroke and heart problems. Searches on

the readily available pain medication went from zero into the tens

of thousands following the stunning announcement. Queries on the

generic name " Naproxen " were up 238% as well, while people searched

for information and pondered the possible danger lurking in their

medicine cabinets. The drug that precipitated the pharmaceutical

problem also spiked with searches on " Vioxx " up 67%. After Vioxx was

pulled from the shelves by Merck, Celebrex was the next prescription

painkiller to come under scrutiny. Searches on Celebrex were up 60%

in the wake of the naproxen news. A number of other search terms

also spiked following the the latest round of bad news for anti-

inflammatory drugs.
