Excellent points! Particularly about the child molesters!!!~~Ruth/REU

Re: OFF TOPIC???? Minn. mom fights church ban on her autistic son

Good point, maybe she is crying out for help. In that case, I think going against an entire church is probably not the way to go about it.

I am responding to the article as read. There is no way for me to respond any other way. I was not there. But the church has to account for all the attendees, not just one child. Again, I find it very, very hard to believe an entire church hasn't tried other methods of helping her before filing for a restraining order that they knew would get a tremendous amount of negative media.

Then again, they have protected child molestors for much longer, so who knows!

Re: [no-forced-vaccinat ion]OFF TOPIC???? Minn. mom fights church ban on her autistic son

Hullo anna. I think there is a principle at stake here. Years ago, people with disabilities were generally hidden away or institutionalized. And the parents or guardians suffered in silence, caring for them, or trying to, physically, emotionally and financially.

With more and more sick kids these days, and with autism spectrum in 1 in 150, society has to make room for all these damaged children and adults with special needs and problems. Schools are somewhat doing their part in trying to educate the educatable, even if it just appears to be babysitting at the taxpayers expense. Cities and buildings, etc. are making accessability better.

Children and adults seen with disabilites are more commonplace these days. But the point is, if churches and organizations and society sits in judgement of who is acceptable, or who MAY create a danger, there lays the esoteric problem. Fear-mongerers will prevail.

And as I mentioned before, where does it end? Do they get to tell us our unvaccinated children are not allowed in society, because they Might be Dangerous? They certainly are Trying! Perfectly normal seeming people can be Dangerous, without outward signs.

That this one or that one is too disfigured or obese, etc, to be seen? These are predjudices like all the others, mostly grown out of fears. There are all kinds of people in the world. Nobody has the right to value their worth. or potential Danger to society. That is the propoganda of the herd mentality. And that is the scary part. IT all contributes to selective segregation. and all the woes of those attempts. History keeps repeating. We dont seem to learn anything much from our past. Man's inhumanity to man.

The mother of this autistic son denies that he even did these accused of things. We weren't there. We don't know. Does a story make us privy to be judge, jury and hangman? OR to pick a side? But she is fighting for her and her childs rights, first of all, and has been denied. Sure, there may be need for a different solution. Help with watching him in a church setting. But banning him from the premises and communty is not the answer. Autistic or not, I am sure he feels that he does not fit in. How many of us have not felt that feeling at some points in our lives, that we aren't good enough, or worthy. Why are suicides so rampant, esp. in our young people? Modern advertisements add to those feelings that we arent pretty enough, smart enough, popular enough, fashionable enough, ETC ETC.

It is the same fight we at No_Forced_Vaccinati ons are fighting. We are fighting for our rights. So I guess we have to remember not to forget about other's personal rights too. None of us wants to be judged for our ideas and values, our religion or color, lifestyles and choices, let alone be bannished. That type of cast system and superior KKK-like attitudes has never gotten anyone anywhere. It just incites anger and riots and rebellions and wars and tears, that should never have had to happen. Yet they do, and they have, and they will. Predjudice is the downside to human nature, and is the basis to most wars and discourse. That eternal fight for human rights to chose and live the way we want.

.. And each of us have our own battles, with wins and losses. None of us want to lose those things we hold dear. Nor to have one Universal mind oppressed on us. We are Not the Sheeple YET!

RE: OFF TOPIC???? Minn. mom fights church ban on her autistic son

“I have a mentally ill brother who refuses to get treatment and cannot function in normal society. I do not subject my children to him because of his actions. I do not see how this is too far from that, only my brother is schizophrenic and this is autism. The end result is behavior that is unwarranted, uncontrollable and dangerous.“

My 100% dependent schizophrenic uncle who is now in his 50’s has gotten caught searching dumpsters for porno magazines and getting into people’s cars looking for cigarettes. My grandmother (a widow in her 20’s and never remarried or cohabitated) used to take him to church, but as she aged, she had the priest come to her house for a private mass and Communion. That was her choice and shouldn’t be required of anyone. She is now deceased and his brothers (my dad and his brother) currently care for him.

Our entire family allows all of our children around him and encourage them to get to know him so that they are more understanding as they grow.
