Guest guest
I do not know if it's too much serotonin that can cause mania. I don't really care what is the mechanism that caused my Mother and sister to become zombies fluctuating between sonolence and irratic drug crazed hyperability. I can assure you after observing my sister and Mother on psychiatrists' drugs that they defnitely exhibited " mania " that they never exhibited before they were enticed to get on them with the promise that were not " addictive " . Our family was " helped " by SSRI's by Mother committed suicide & sister on permanent disablity for " bi-polar " and is one miserable human being. Dr. Lance, D.C. Guest guest
All I can say about this is my OBYGN told me last year before all of this happened with me that too many people are being diagnosed with bi-polar and in his opinion it was a travesty. When hospitalized, that diagnosis seemed to be the " flavor of the month " .

Guest guest
All the diagnoses are baloney in that there is no physical test that can be performed. Seems the public is willing to let someone else label them and " treat " them until they've been in the system and see it for what it is. Over and over people get in a psych ward only to want out as fast as they can get out of there. Once labeled, even if you don't take the label on, which sadly many do, the paper work can follow you around and create havoc in your life. Children snatched by CPS and then labeled and drugged by a state psychiatrist when returned afte rthe allegations fall through get treated by many public schools as a problem child and this can be a real problem as the child really is just dramatizing his/her stay in the system. I would think at that crucial time the child should be given a safe enviorment to get back on their feet but that doesn't happen many times. > > All I can say about this is my OBYGN told me last year before all of this happened with me that too many people are being diagnosed with bi-polar and in his opinion it was a travesty.
