APA adding Political Paranoia to DSM-V manual in May 2005

Two questions:

1) How can we determine the accuracy of this Political Paranoia thing? I

mean it wouldn't surprise me if it were true, but it just seems over the top

even for psychiatry. It kind of seemed like a spoof to me.

2) did anyone see the Sponsor link: it's a biopsych view of

depression...

very ironic!

Whether the article is true or not, I don't know but it would not be

inconsistent with the inclusion criteria used in prior DSM versions.

Read a book such as " Making us Crazy " which describes how major

divisions of the APA are currently bittlerly divided over the

scientific invalidity of large portions of the most recent version

of the DSM manual.

If a psychiatrist can blame his client for seducing him, then it is

not inconceivable that political dissidents can be drugged into

compliance.
