Guest guest
This is very disturbing to learn, because PCVI is one of two Porcine circovirus Please consult the Vaccines & Immunization website as important information about the Rotarix Vaccine is now available. With two doses recommended for each child, this means that at most approximately 1 million children have been vaccinated with Rotarix in the United States and approximately 30 million worldwide, with the majority in Latin America. No unexpected pattern of serious adverse reactions to the vaccine has been reported in any country.88888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888Journal of Virology, September 2003, p. 9885-9893, Vol. 77, No. 18 0022-538X/03/$08.00+0 DOI: 10.1128/JVI.77.18.9885-9893.2003 New Reporter Gene-Based Replication Assay Reveals Exchangeability of Replication Factors of Porcine Circovirus Types 1 and 2 Annette Mankertz,* Bettina Mueller, Tobias Steinfeldt, Cornelia Schmitt, and Tim Finsterbusch http://jvi.asm.org/cgi/content/abstract/77/18/9885 " The interchangeability of the replication factors of PCV1 and PCV2 was examined. So let me get this right...All Rotarix has come from seed stock contaminated with DNA of Porcine Circovirus PCV1 and it was learned in 2003 that PCV2 replicates not only to PCV2 but also to PCV1. So if child/person has been given Rotarix and PCV1 DNA is now part of their physical make-up, aren't those child/persons now more susceptible thereafter (if exposed) to contract BOTH PCV1 or PCV2 at any time in their lives????
