Guest guest
Hello 2002 was a rough year for me, I still haven't started tx due to esophageal varices, the distal ones have been obliterated, the proximal are 2 and 3 plus. This is why treatment " is considered risky " according to my HMO's hepatologist. The Person that wrote about colloidal silver, how are you doing? I'm confused, should I give up the idea of peg-intron, and go alt. meds? I saw a letter warning against heavy metals being dangerous to the liver. ??? Any Ideas Anyone? My attitude is most positive though, best wishes to all for the year 2003. Sincerely, Martha (MEL)

Martha- I don't think giving up on traditional meds in favor of alternatives is a good idea. Although I use supplements heavily myself, it is more to help my body help itself. I think of them as complementary rather than alternative. It is my belief that we will get the best response with a combination of the two rather than either one singly. Do you take anything now-like milk thistle, alpha-lipoic acid, or lecithin? Those are the top three supplements that come to mind that are good for the liver. I certainly hope you get to try treatment soon! gail

Guest guest
Guin: You have a great time at Disneyland. You will be among the very first of the visitors to see use new updated rides and attractions. For example: The Disneyland train has been replaced by the Southwest Airlines shuttle bus and you will have to pat $15 for every overpriced souvenir you bring on board. The Pirates of The Caribbean ride is now The Pirates of Wall Street ride, and any assets you bring with you will sink. It's A Small World is still there, but now all those international dolls no longer dance and sing. They work in sweatshops making stuff for Wal-Mart. Star-Tours has been replaced with Star-Rehab. It's still a roller coaster ride, but now instead of getting your photos taken by a Disneyland cameraman, the paparazzi take them and you will be on the cover of a tabloid showing you screaming as your skirt billows around your ears or your fly is left open. The Haunted House is now The Haunted White House. The ghosts of dead Presidents wander around. Wahington looking for the Orkin man to kill the termites in his wooden teeth; Abraham Lincoln looking for the TV Guide so he can stay home instead of going to that stupid play; Teddy Roosevelt trying to decide whether to get on top of San Hill or Faith Hill: FDR hiding from Eleanor; Kennedy looking for Marilyn Monroe; Nixon telling everyone he's not a crook; Jimmy preaching to an empty room; Reagan supervising some remodeling by telling the Russian contractor, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall!" Of course not all of the Haunted White House rooms are open to the public. The Oval Office is closed as long as Lewinsky is the tour guide there. Mickey Mouse no longer has his own house in Toon town. He had a sex change operation and moved in with duck. Minnie blames it on for running around all those years without any pants. The Indiana ride is now the Illinois Blagojevich ride and the seat costs $500,000. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella no longer work at Disneyland. They got tired of the low wages Disney paid, so they bought a brass pole and started their own Fantasyland. The Seven Dwarfs have dispersed. Doc was sued for malpractice; Grumpy got arrested for road rage, , Bashful went to a self-esteem improvement seminar; Sneezy is in quarantine; Sleepy is currently being treated for narcolepsy, Happy took a job selling do-it-yourself colonoscopy kits, and the narcs got Dopey. Pluto and Goofy got arrested for trying to kill Mickey because he had them fixed at the vet's. The entire cast of Toy Story quit when Disney announced he was making Toy Story 3, and it was going to be a porno movie starring the toy in Mrs. Disney's night stand. That means no more Buzz Lightyear and no more Woody. Splash Mountain closed down. it seems Mays sold Disney so many cleaning products there's no longer a trace of any splash. The Tea Cup ride has been updated for grownups. Executives from 's Secret were called in to design more comfortable cups. The Merry-Go-Round is now the Merry-What-Goes-Around-Comes-Around, and the creepy guy that used to ride it by himself is now locked up where there are no wooden horses to fondle. But the biggest change in Disneyland is the food. No more overpriced cheap, tasteless food will be sold there. now, thanks to a ten year agreement with China, all that will be replaced by paper and cardboard images of good food upon which you can add salt, ketchup, mayonnaise or Noxema to give it the same taste as before. Of course the old high prices have been eliminated in favor of new higher prices. Finally the parking lots have been moved. They are no longer adjacent to Disneyland in Anaheim. Now they are in East Los Angeles where that just adds to the excitement of the Disneyland experience. Disneyland, in a rare move for them, actually lowered the price to park for a day from $200 to only $195. Of course there is a charge for the shuttle bus to the park, but that's only $300 per person plus $15 for every item you carry on including purses, diaper bags and gunny sacks filled with pomegranates. So Guin, enjoy your trip there and also those to the bank for loans to cover the cost of admission, meals and post-visit trips to the psychiatrist for ever thinking it was a good idea in the first place. From California where Disneyland truly is magical. It turns your life's saving into cheap souvenirs, overpriced burger wrappers and embarrassing photos of adults talking to six foot dogs and five foot mice. Guest guest
Hi Everyone Happy New Year! I hope that 2009 brings us all some good things and some relief from this pain. As I wrote before I was having trouble with my legs again, more specifically pain developed into my knees and ankles/feet which was new and didn't know if it was lyrica related or what, happening mostly at night...I saw my pain mgmt doc on the 22nd and not only did I leave there with a series of cervical and lumbar facet joint and facet nerve injections the doc told me that when I wake up at night time I should go ahead and take Advil Liquid Gels ~ Three of them (I think that makes 600 mg), because it's liquid gels they'll work slightly faster than regular ones and that will help me wake up a little bit better in the mornings. (I really hate mornings!) I was sceptical thinking why not take baby asprin, but it seems to help a little bit. Besides for that, when he examined my neck and lumbar/sciatic he did tell me that I had much more swelling and tenderness than I usually do and I have really just gone over the limits on rejecting these inj's and epidurals. Still not going for more epidurals or RF's at the moment, but felt so lousy I didn't feel like I had much to lose by getting the injections right before Christmas (and supposed to be hosting dinner again). Hope that everyone had a good holiday season...pain makes me say I'm happy it's over! Debbie C.

Guest guest
is, Thank you for your Lovely reply. He loves his games, and he's just fab at them - I couldn't even approach how good he is. Other boys who see him (his nephew) are Gobsmacked at how skilled he is. Keep reminding me. He's just having fun and he's cool. What chance has Stanley Greenspan and Floortime got with Disney? None.
