Guest guest
I don't remember at all! The only thing that sticks in my mind as something we were confused about was something on your results about urine????? It should say on your results if it's copies per ml, or IU per ml, or... well, it's probably one or the other of those. --- Constance Dickson <constance_clearwater_florida@...> wrote: > > Claudine did we ever figure out the viral load thing > that I got? Guest guest
It had both ml/iu on it. or iu/ml, we were wondering because viral load was 29 million or somewhere in there and at start this time it was 3 million something .. A year before when Dr I saw in Inverness FL, said there was no reason to go back on treatment I am a non-responder to current meds, why waste them when someone else can use them to fight the Virus.. That Dr was one sandwich short of a picnic. Had to even go back in his office and request he put RNA and something else (can't remember) on the script for blood work. I knew more about HCV than he did. My sister who lives in Inverness, has always said the reason they are in Citrus County, issssssssssss because nowhere else will let them set up a practice. LOL is a great golfing community. Just don't get sick....Is my parents retirement place there, but they are no longer around...........Take Care, Connie claudine intexas <claudineintexas@...> wrote: I don't remember at all! Guest guest
3 million in IU/ml would roughly be equivalent to about 9 million in copies/ml. The conversion factor is not the same in all labs, but that is a good general rule: multiply IU X 3 to get copies. Do keep in mind that mistakes can happen too. I had a viral load come back once at 2 million, when the previous one was 110,000, and I had been on treatment 4 weeks. The lab had stated the the blood specimen was 'cloudy', so my doc had blood redrawn and sent back to the original lab he had used (NGI) and it came back at 35,000 (the lowest it ever got). So mistakes can happen. If your results are totally out of line then think about having the test redone. Guest guest
Thanks Claudine, My very first I had done was in 3/1999 it was 12.5 million. Then the one done right before work terminated me was 09/99 after 6 months of combo and it was 350,000. Then had one done after many months of no treatment 4/2000, this is the one that came out 29,000,000 I was not put on anything because the Dr ******* said it was needless. He said I was a non-responder, soooooo the only time I was on meds was, 3/99 to 9/99. and then now. this is the one that was 4/2000 the one with Dr *******. Take Care, Connie This make any sense to you....lol3 million in IU/ml would roughly be equivalent to about 9 million in copies/ml.
