Hello,

I am new to this group and I wanted to introduce myself.

My name is and I am a 31 yr old married stay at home mother of

3 boys ages 12, 8 and 4. I blew two cervical discs lifting things

for a garage sale Memorial Day weekend 2006. I had signifigant

spinal cord compression C5-C6-C7 levels. My husband had a

neurologist because he has already had 2 back surgeries and he has an

artificial disc in his back. So, I went to my husbands doctor. I

had a double ACDF 7/06. Everything went well. They used cadaver

bone instead of my hip bone. Well, 9 weeks AFTER my fusion....I was

a customer at a local chain restaurant when the bathroom stall door

broke off the hinges- hit me and it knocked me down. It messed up my

fusion and all my complaints fell on the deaf ears of the Physicians

Assistant. For 8 months I did PT, had injections, took steroids and

walked around with a broken fusion. They finally did a CT scan in

March. It showed a non-union. I had a C6-C7 extraction, removal and

repair April 2007. I am still in pain everyday. Now, the Dr. thinks

I might have a C4 root tear. I feel like my C7-T1 is bad. I am

avoiding more procedures out of fear of what is ahead. So, I wake up

with headaches, deal with arm pain (not all the way down anymore) and

I try not to do anything. Which is extremely hard with 3 SONS! That

is my story. I hope to get some support out of talking to people who

understand that just because the scar looks good, it doesn't mean

that I should be all better.
