OMG! Gertie! How long has this been going on??? They've made a zombie out

of your husband. It's time for you to take control!!! After my husband's

TBI, I took charge. I went to every doctor's appointment, I battled the doctors

on what drugs he could take. I gave the orders, and I would NOT back down.

After my paxil experience, the doctors said I was paranoid about drugs in

general, and that my refusal to have my husband take this or that was

interfering

with his recovery. So, I let them experiment on him -- they gave him

everything from Adderall to Zyprexa and then there was a final straw -- I think

it was

when they gave him Adderall and he vomited nonstop for 12 hours. That's when

I called up the shrinks -- all well-known brain injury specialists -- and

said, THAT'S IT! He's no longer your guinea pig. And I weaned him off all the

drugs, and told the doctors that's what I was doing. No wonder so many people

get divorced when one party gets put on these SSRIs. Time to speak up, Gertie.

Call that shrink and give him a piece of your mind and tell him what's going

on. Maybe I had more clout because I was appointed my husband's guardian and

nobody gets to him without going through me. In the end, the doctors were

very nice to me and went along with my program, and voila, my husband got better

WITHOUT the drugs. STAND YOUR GROUND! (if you still love your husband, you

have to save him!!!)

thanks for the support, Connie -- problem is, I'm not his appointed guardian,

and he is acting JUST LIKE every drug addict ever does -- will not discuss it,

blows up at any question, and is more faithful to the shrink than to himself.

He goes every three months for a prescription. He is in there for 10 minutes.

They talk about the shrink's upcoming trip to Europe in his own private jet, and

then they talk about the shrink's favorite TV show, and then my husband writes a

check for $60 or $70 bucks, and then he goes home. Never in 12 years has this

shrink ever billed Medicare or my husband's health insurance, the way real

doctors do. What is THAT all about? I am completely shut out. Gertie
