Guest guest
http://tinyurl.com/yglp4t Very interesting and scary reading for those of us who are trying to eliminate as many chemicals as we can from our lives. I talked to a woman today who has Muscular Dystrophy who has stopped taking her meds and is eating all "organic" foods to fight the disease. I will see her again on Friday and give her a copy of this as she was eating the yogurt mentioned in this article on the advice of her nutritionist. Ila in Maine mailto:sewcraftyila@... Guest guest
Hi Ila, You are correct that this column is scary ... but it is a column, not an article. I work for the local Soil & Water Conservation District in a field office of the USDA. I do not live completely organic but I have made a few concentrated switches. Upon the advice of my rheumy I switched to organic milk, since I ingest enough chemicals through my meds. I have noticed a great difference -- especially when I go to other peoples' houses and drink regular milk. As an employee within a USDA office, I have heard rumors that Stonyfield may be under investigation for its practices. (alas they are only rumors). Horizon, the brand of milk I drink, has already notified stores that they will have shortages of dairy products in the spring. This is because to meet the demand when the cows are naturally not producing as much milk would be a violation of their USDA organic standards. Take care, Steph in VAIla <sewcraftyila@...> wrote: http://tinyurl.com/yglp4tVery interesting and scary reading for those of us who are trying to eliminate as many chemicals as we can from our lives.
