Guest guest
what a horrible thing to say about her. I blame the Republican party and their ties to the pharmaceutical industry more than she. At least she cares for those seniors more than Bush who only cares for the millionaire aged who have the most of everything. Is it any wonder so many of us living on a fixed income fall into depression? Mike in Dallas (originally from upstate NY---p.s.--Dallas sucks). Try living on less than $600/mo. with no section 8. And Bush would love nothing more than to have us all homeless or in an institution Re: TARGET: Older Americans In a message dated 9/30/04 7:16:29 AM Mountain Daylight Time, SSRI medications <mailto:SSRI medications > writes: > Sponsor: Sen Clinton, Hillary Rodham [NY] (introduced 6/24/2004) > Cosponsors (2) > OMG! It's HER again!! UGH! I can't stand this woman, and it doesn't surprise me AT ALL that she's a sponsor of this bill. This fat cow needs to go back to Arkansas. And take her junk-food eating philandering husband with her. " Blind Reason " a novel of pharmaceutical intrigue Think your antidepressant is safe? Think again. Guest guest
Why is it okay to bash Bush but not Hilliary? I'm surprised to hear some opponents of SSRIs who are actually aware of the great contributions the Clinton's made to the current mess. I get the impression many think it is all Bush and the Republicans like you Mike. Gosh - how could anyone forget those who fought so nobly for FDA requirements to be eased for faster, cheaper approval of new drugs? That was actually part of the Clinton's campaign platform for those who have forgotten or were never aware of in the first place. How could anyone forget those who bought us the wonderful solution to rising health care costs to be putting businessmen in charge of the doctors and our healthcare? That's right - medical costs were to decrease by having businessmen " approve " the doctors treatments!! They were going to catch doctors doing things that were not necessary!! Yea right, they set up a system for business men to just captilize more off of people's sickness and added one more middle man to increase the total costs. How could anyone forget the rendouvous meetings in Hole to solve the health care problems wherein the doors were slammed to doctors and scientists to offer their opinions on the problems and solutions? Who actually was included in those meetings and the subsequent programs that evolved from them? Who benefited? Pharmacia only!! Of yes and lets not forget the NIH funding that was changed to be for " finding cures " and next to nothing funded for basic research. Who needs to know what really causes health problems? Oh yes, great public service from philanthropists to cease funding to finding the cause of AIDS and only money to finding " treatments " . And what happened to the scientists who were speaking out at that time? Who do you think really benefited from her " sincere " efforts Mike? Pharmacia - and not because she " cared " about the elderly. In fact, her program that caused such uproar included NOT caring for the elderly - she was going to save lots of money by letting old people just die. Why prolong life of those already expended? At least that is how Hilliary wrote it in her proposed healthcare reform program. Sheezzz. Guest guest
Both sides are neck deep in this mental health disaster. It's not a Republican/Democrat issue as both sides have good and bad idea's on mental health. It's easy to bash the other side but it's not about sides anymore it's about individual actions and the ramifications that follow. I despise Kennedy for sitting on the Children's Medication Safety Act and want to scream when I look over the TMAP and New Freedom Commission on Mental Health that Bush has been planning for us since he was governor of Texas. At the same time the committee looking into the FDA is bi-partisan and doing a good job. I like to bash the individual doing the harm and not the political party.
