He has been on them for quite awhile but, depression is really not his

problem, it doesn't address the real physical symptoms he is having.

Anti-depressants aren't just for depression. In fact, Paxil will be given a

new name to be prescribed for PMS symptoms. If your doc wants to give you

antidepressants, don't close your mind to it. Talk to her about it. She

might actually have some help for some hep symptoms.

Hi Pat,

ITP is Immune Thrombocytepenic Pupura, I have also

heard the I stands for Idiopathic, which means unknown

cause. I do not have a Dr but when I had Dr's the

Psychoneuroendocrinoligist...long title...3 Docs in 1

prescribed Celexa and also apam 30 mg a day, and

Elavil 100 mgs at night which also has an

antidepressant in it. The Arthritis Dr also

prescribed the Elavil and Flexeril. The Pain

management Dr was going to prescribe a narcotic and

Aqua Therapy.....but never got that far before

Insurance was terminated. My PCP referred me to

different Dr's I had 6.....Connie
