Guest guest
Alley, I don't know about that. It specifically says not to take it if it's past the exp date. I don't think I'd want to chance it....but I'm no expert LOL. Carol wrote: > I have 6 boxes of interferon in pens and 6 bottles of riba. The > boxes give an 8/17/01 exp date. Guest guest
I'm no expert either but a) I've heard as long as it is clear and not cloudy it is good and my vet gives all expired meds to the no-kill cat shelter. She says that shelf life is actually several years longer than the date they put on the package and although she can't use it in her practice, it is still perfectly good and always donates it to the no-kill cat shelter. She has also been giving me expired food (you know how vets have all those special prescription foods they sell) to help me out and none of my guys have had a problem. But again, I'm not a pharmacist. Actually I'll ask my pharmacist. We have a very good relationship (neighborhood pharmacy) and he has also helped me out with some expired meds that I have prescriptions for so he should know. Guest guest
I have 4-5 boxes also (Rivavarin). They have been kept at a steady temp, at just above freezing. I have asked and been told they are good. So let me know if they can be usued. I also have quite a few, ampules of 3 mill iu's of Interferon. Schering said keep them, I found out why a while back. Federal Law does not allow any prescription to be returned. The pharmacist told me it is because of the Tylenol thing years ago. Guest guest
Connie, I know of someone who would probably be able to use these, but I can't find her email address. Claudine might know her email. I will try to contact Claudine but her computer is down. Edie Re: 6 boxes rebetron > I have 4-5 boxes also (Rivavarin).
