Guest guest
http://tinyurl.com/y3mhba October in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Hallmark is observing this by offering 4 free ecards you can send to loved ones or friends to remind them how special they are to you or to ask them to be sure to get their mammograms. This year alone 3 of my dearest friends have been diagnosed with this terrible disease. One chose to have bilateral mastectomies, another is taking the chemo route and a third is still weighing her options because the doctors don't know if any option she takes will work. She is the mother of the one who had the mastectomies. And now her son, the brother has been dxed with it. If you look on my group in my signature line (Jeflovers you don't need to be a member to look) you will see a picture of a quilt block requested by this woman. That block is going into her death quilt because it is probably too late for any option to work for her. Please if you know someone who should have a mammogram, or if you yourself should have one and have been putting it off because you "don't want to know" please I beg you DON'T put it off any longer. Mine is scheduled for the 24th of this month and I have one every year and have been since I was 30 because my great grandmother died of this. When is yours? I always say about "If more people in Washington DC had breasts, less people in the US would die from breast cancer." Had I the money I would have this made into a bumper sticker with the pink ribbon on it and give them away to everyone I could. Given that my friends brother has the dx now of breast cancer, gentlemen if it runs in your family maybe you should be talking to your doctors about it also. I'm not familiar enough with that part of it to offer any advise, I'm still trying to get over the news of my 3 friends and scared who may be next. Ila in Maine mailto:sewcraftyila@...
