Guest guest Posted July 24, 2000 Report Share Posted July 24, 2000 Hi Claudine and All, My GI Doc is doing my biopsy. I asked him if he had done many before because he looked so young. He has been a Dr. for 10 years. I'll be checking-in at the endoscopy clinic. Thats inside the Medical Office Bldg. of Kaiser in Portland Oregon. He said to plan on staying 3-4 hrs. afterwards. I could drive myself home but I wouldn't get any pain medication. I guess i'll have to ask someone to come with. Mine was done like Doc says he handles them. There are seldom difficulties, but there can be. The Guy who did mine was real nice, he explained the whole procedure from begining to end and I stayed in a room for 8 hrs afterwards. He was not my Dr. that I was seeing for my Hep. I was at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL. My GI Dr, had wrote a script for it to be done. Do you have a Hospital in the town where you live? If you do call them and ask them their procedure for Liver Biopsies. Since I have Kaiser insurance I have to go there. So far I'm happy with them. It's just taking such a long time to get to where I am now. I'll be starting treatment soon. Are you on treatment now?
