Guest guest
, My experience with CMT and life has taught me there are many kinds of stress. Some stressors motivate me to do more, be better, work harder; other " intermediate stressors " (like loud noises or irritating sounds) have me running for my earplugs; then there are the " overwhelms " in stress - the deaths of family, the caring of elderly family, mostly these are the ones that are going to have a physical impact. The first thing I notice when I am under ANY stress is my tremor. The nature of my stress can be seen in the amplitude of my tremor. I spend time in quiet frequently, also journal, meditate, listen to the birds, garden - this restores my stress. I will say that once I identifed my " hidden " stressors and applied some personal stressbusters techniques, my CMT held its own. We are all affected in different ways by different stress, but anger, worry, resentment and fear are my top four killers for a stressed life. I do not enjoy this, so take steps in advance to prevent these stressors from occuring. Other than a temporary change in tremor, that is how I am affected, CMT wise. I have discovered naps and quality sleep at night to be extremely beneficial in 'heading off stress at the pass'. Did you receive our " Stressbusters " List or do you want one? I can easy email it to you. I would also suggest some time in our archives using the topic of stress, as it has come up many times before. ~ Gretchen
