Ok, in light of my recent adventure to the Physical Therapist I am

looking for some research information. Does anyone know of a good

site that I can look at that explains exactly how a CMT-damaged

muscle reacts to exercise? I feel like the more I understand about

the way that my body works the better I can understand what to do

about it. I don't understand exactly how our muscles are damaged,

why they work 2-3x's harder than a " normal " muscle, how a damaged

muscle is identified (my PT told me that EMG's show damaged muscles,

yet mine are normal, so why are my legs atrophying??? and why are my

arms so weak) and lastly how much exercise is ok and to what extent.

Since I have learned that i have to be my own advocate, I feel the

more I understand about this the better. Also, don't worry if you

have a techinical site b/c my husband is a researcher and can look up

medical stuff.

Also, anyone that has been forced to overdue it at the PT's office,

any more ideas for relief, my muscles in my torso hurt so much it is

difficult to breathe. Oh, that's right, those muscles are normal...

thanks in advance!!

Juli
