It seems like everytime we need some good news so we can smile about something we get lots of good news on the same day instead of it being spread out over a few weeks. All the events I was updating you we found out on the same day this past Tuesday. My husband has been down after his first shot of the Peg Intron A. We gave him his first shot of the stuff yesterday morning Thursday when I got home from work which is about 2:30 or 3 am. I always work all my hours and I didn't want him alone or waiting another week until my next day off for the shot. He has just felt misderable again like on the Combo the first 6 months he was on it. He has been off the Ribavarin pills for 4 weeks and just taking the interferone shots of the Rebetron for the past month so we were hoping that the sides might be not so bad or at least he would still continue to feel better like he had been getting once off the Ribavarin pills. They say the first 3 weeks are the worse on this stuff - so it will probably get better along the way. I am rambling - how are others on the Peg Intron A getting along with it out there? I have heard the sides are not supposed to be as bad but if you read both the phamplets that come with it you find out differently but we will find a way to deal with it just like everything else we have had to deal with. What I have heard in STUDIES about the side effects is that the side effects are the same, but over all people find them easier to adapt to (probably because they are steady as opposed to up and down) and overall rate their quality of life higher than when on reg. interferon. My doctor told me the only side effect he has seen more of is fever. Good luck, hopefully he will adjust quickly to this new interferon.
