I'd move to Bibb county! Even a 6 month wait would be

worth it - when the 6 months is up. You have long term

health problems, not JUST today. Sounds like you need

to go to bed, take care of yourself. Drink lots of

fluids. Don't stress out over all this.

Sheeesh Connie, what a bloody mess. Sorry you're sick, I hate having

high temps...makes me even hotter that the " power surges " I sometimes

get in the middle of the night LOL. Hmmmm, you are having the same

trouble as me, although it's totally a different situation, it's still

the fact that we don't know what to do.

Claudine, I also meant to tell you that here in Canada, they only do a

biopsy every 5 years. So, if my biopsy shows stage 1 or 2, and I

waited 5 years hoping for the peg, then I'd miss out on the

percentages of women who clear cuz we're pre-meno and are not stage 3

or 4 which makes it much harder to clear. See what I mean? What a

quandry. Basically, the doctor said that if I waited 5 years and was

in much worse shape, I'd blame it on him for not suggesting I do

treatment now. I'm not going to think about this anymore until after

the biopsy or I'll drive myself crazy..err, crazier.

Speaking of fluids I was told I need to eat salty

things because my sodium level low I consume 1,1/2,

too 2,1/2 gallons a day. I have to have water

constantly, LOL, even sleep with a bottle of water.

This cold thing is really been getting me down I never

You CAN sometimes drink too much water, and it will

throw your electrolytes out of balance. Can make you

feel really sick. Try replacing some of that water

with sports drink - that could help a lot. The stuff

for babies who have diarrhea, Pedialyte, is very good

too, but costs a lot more than sport drink, and I

think the sport drink tastes better too. My son's

deployment was delayed for some reason, now he is not

supposed to leave until after Christmas, which is good

because he has been really sick. He got the flu

vaccine about 2 weeks ago, then last Friday had

flu-like symptoms and a mild sore throat. The doc gave

him Amoxyciline, and Sunday he called saying he felt

horrible, body aches, fever, and the back/roof of his

mouth hurt. I told him to take some ibuprofen. Monday

he called to say his whole entire mouth was sore! Told

him to go back to doctor. Wed. he called to say his

mouth - insides of cheeks, lips, and tongue were

covered with sores, sounds like mouth ulcers or canker

sores. The doc who looked in his mouth just glanced in

and did nothing. He could barely talk, said he was in

so much pain he couldn't eat anything at all. Sent him

to buy some stuff to rub onto the sores to help with

the pain. Doesn't sound like this military doctor is

too great - makes me want to call him up and chew him

out, lol! I just read recently an article on weird

drug/virus interactions (you know, like aspirin taken

during a viral infection in children can cause Reyes

Syndrome) and the flu vaccine was one thing mentioned.

I think he is having some sort of weird reaction to

the flu shot, another virus, and the antibiotics - and

maybe some stress thrown in too. He had already

decided to not take anymore of the antibiotic in case

he was having an allergic reaction to it. I don't

know, but I had ONE of those sores in my mouth a few

months ago, and it really hurt bad! (That's how I knew

about the medicine to tell him to buy.) I can't

imagine having a mouth full of them. I told him to go

back to the doctor again, but I don't think they are

going to do anything. Actually, I don't think there is

much that can be done except wait for them to go away.

I was kind of nice though that even at age 24 he still

called his mommy when he got to feeling really sick!

In the Burn Unit I had something that caused my mouth

to get sore all inside, have had it 2 times since

then. I am trying to think of the name. They use

nyastatin, not sure of spelling but that is what was

used, HIV people get it a lot also. maybe think of it

later.

It is nice when they phone home when they are sick.

My son has made a decision to join the Marines.

I think the nyastatin is used for thrush - a yeast

infection in the mouth, and it is common in people on

antibiotics, especially for a long period of time.

That was my first thought when he called the first

time to say his mouth was sore. I had him look in a

mirror, but there was no fuzzy white stuff, no white

patches, like you see with thrush. There is a kind of

the only time in my life I had it. Yuk! That hurt too.

I don't think it's a common side effect of treatment,

my doctor seemed VERY puzzled by it.

I think the nyastatin is used for thrush - a yeast

infection in the mouth, and it is common in people on

antibiotics, especially for a long period of time.

That was my first thought when he called the first

time to say his mouth was sore. I had him look in a

mirror, but there was no fuzzy white stuff, no white

patches, like you see with thrush. There is a kind of

mouth ulcer people with AIDs get too. Also, with

Thanks I was ready to start banging my head against

the wall...lol. I have had it twice while on

treatment, also 1 time in burn unit, I was receiving

antibiotics 24/7 intravenously (sp). I recognize it

whenever I get it.

I don't think the 2 alternatives you came up with

are his problem. My Mom, use to call what it sounds

like he has, a stomach ulcer. Guess what the cure

was.....lol, think all Moms used laxatives. Actually

there was a certain one called Caroid and Bile Salts,

it would get rid of them I have had them too, man they

hurt. Pharmacist might be able to steer you if you

decide you want them. Asked one here a while back and

he said they are still around, just not kept on
