Guest guest
Hi Group, I've noticed that people are reluctant to make eye contact with people sitting in wheelchairs. I'm hoping my lap quilt will help those people get over the awkwardness they might feel, and start 'seeing' the person, not the chair. Did see a cool poster in the place where we bought my chair. It said, " For people who sit wherever they want. " Yep! That's me! Take care, Midge
Guest guest
Midge, Your observation is correct because I experienced the same thing when I used a wheelchair after my two foot surgeries. A lap quilt is a nice idea to help people overcome their awkardness, but how about a beautiful smile from you! It seemed to worked for me. ----- Original Message ----- From: " midgeirish " <midgeirish@...> < > Sent: Sunday, February 03, 2002 6:43 PM Subject: [] Wheelchair Day II > Hi Group, > I've noticed that people are reluctant to make eye contact with > people sitting in wheelchairs.
