Hi , You've found a good group. There are people onboard who have been

through treatment successfully and there are some for whom the treatment has

failed. There are peole who have done treatment and some who have choosen to go

the herbal route.

I did 24 weeks of 3 shots per week and 6 pills per day. Current treatment is 1

shot per week and a weight-based dose of pills. Doing 3 shots per week does not

give your body much time to recover before getting the next shot. I lived

through it without missing any work. One of the most important aspects of

treatment is your mental attitude, try to keep things Sunny Side Up!! A good

support group helps also. Try to find one near you. Both Schering and Roche,

the companies who make the drugs, have 24/7 help lines available for patients.

You will find their links under the Links Tab on the left side of this group's

homepage. My favorite website for printed information is www.hcvadvocate.org.

Alan and his staff are constantly updating and adding material to the site.

> Hello,

> I am new to your website and I think it will be very helpful to me. Recently I

was diagnosed with hep c. I haven't found out what type I have yet. I am also

waiting for my results from my biopsy.  It will be nice to have people share how

they handled treatment. I am very nervous about that. I have a full time job and

have never called in sick for the 4 years that I have worked there. I would like

to know how they handled treatment and maybe it's not as bad as what I have

heard. Well that is my story so far. Just waiting til Friday to see the dr. and

probably start treatment at that time.
