CHAKDARA: Unable to treat her six children suffering from the Hepatitis C,

Sakeena, a resident of Och in district Dir Lower compelled to sell out her

eldest daughter for Rs 100,000 for treatment of her other children.

But as misery loves company, her that daughter too was diagnosed with the

same disease therefore, the deal could not be finalised.

Sakeena, mother of four daughters and three sons, told The News that she had

already taken Rs 50,000 as loan from her relatives and villagers for the

treatment of her children. Her children, Robina 16, Mohammad Umer 15,

Rozina, 13, Abida, 11, Ranbia, 9, and Salman, 11, were suffering from

hepatitis C for the past one-year and she was not in position to provide

them proper medical treatment.

“For treatment of my children, I went to the extent even to sell out my own

daughter, but she too was found as hepatitis patient,” the 40-year old said

as she burst into tears.

She said that her husband was a poor labourer, who could hardly manage

livelihood for his family. Arrangement of the costly treatment was

impossible for him.
