I had someone watch it for me and tell me what they

said.......lots of good info and then also some

bad.....is transmitted by food utensils, cups,

sneezes, coughs etc....

They also stated thet the Government was trying to get

funding for people with it.

WHERE do they get their info? Why is it so hard to get

FACTUAL info out to the public? This is so irritating!

I hope they get lots of calls and letters from people

WHERE do they get their info? Why is it so hard to get

FACTUAL info out to the public? This is so irritating!

UGh...sometomes I really wonder about news reports....where do they get this

'health beat' segment on HCV. They advertised it as: 'Have Hepatitis C and

having a hard time trying to get rid of it? " ...Like...a pesky headache or

something! or teenage acne, or heartburn...geez! gee

A San TV station ran a news item on HCV today

- I had no idea this was happening, so I'm surprised I

saw it. They didn't get anything wrong, but that is

probably because they didn't say anything! Must have

lasted all of 1 minute, maybe. They were interviewing

a person with HCV who is starting a support group.

About all she had time to say is that it can lead to

liver failure and death (true), that many people have

it and don't know about it (true), and it is called

the 'silent killer'. They also announced there will

be free HCV testing tomorrow. Better than nothing I

guess, but they could have mentioned risk factors to

get people out for the free testing!

I agree with you Connie and support any letter writing/phone campaign

you decide to start. Too little knowledge is a very dangerous thing.

I'm glad there is a group down there. I think San has a few of the

clinics that the state of Tex is spending money to join HIV and HCV clinics, get

free testing and counseling.

it. I am so proud of the way he has handled this situation because I really

don't think I could have been as strong as he has. Of course with him beside

me going thorugh it I bet I could now that I think about it. Unconditional

Winne.. you're so right! I couldn't do this wihtout my husband. Sometimes

just knowing he's there is enough. Then other times, having him cater to me
