Guest guest
Sally, I within 7 weeks (6 more shots) of finishing Pegasys and I have not had any shot site reaction of any type. Well, I knicked an artery or something once and got a bruise, but that's been it. Tatezi I got the black marks at injection sites with each interferon injection when I was on the straight stuff. Do those marks still happen with the pegylated and any other type of interferon?
Guest guest
Thank you for your response. I suppose from the lack of any other responses, that this is universal? The black marks are no longer present in treatment? Guest guest
They were black spots at each injection site. They would take a couple days to fully appear, and then take about 2 weeks to each of them fade. I am pretty sure I wasn't nicking a blood vessel with each injection, particularly since I also take insulin, and get no such marking from those injections. My doctor, and another list I was on, agreed that this side effect was not uncommon. Sally Re: On Topic Post: Black Marks at Injection Sites Sally, Sorry no one else responded because my experience might not be the same as someone else's experience. Maybe some folks aren't clear on what you meant by black spots and so have hesitated in responding. I " assumed " that you meant at the injection site...is that right? And were they black spots that stayed or could have been a minor hemorage at the injection site from knicking an artery or vein? Tatezi RE: On Topic Post: Black Marks at Injection Sites Thank you for your response. I suppose from the lack of any other responses, that this is universal? Or, perhaps it is something related to your diabetes since diabetes affects circulation. (I would still be concerned about black spots though.) Did you perhaps have low platelets which might have caused you to bruise excessively? Could blck spots be related to (I'm about to misspell this) pattecei? That isn't a problem that I had, but a lot of people on ribavirin did. Anne

They are small and also red. I did, and thanks for the spelling. That was the closest thing I could think of. I do remember having a problem if I goofed and injected one shot on top of the other. but I don't remember black spots and I tend to bruise.
