Guest guest
Hello everyone, I wanted to introduce myself and tell my story. I am grateful to finally realize that I need a support group and find one. I am realizing now that my pain is something I have to live with and manage. I had a bone fusion at C5-6 in 1992. One year later, the fusion needed to be redone. the 2nd doc said the first doc used an older method and I'll be fine with no indication that I would have pain later. I was fine after the 2nd surgery and physical therapy following. I didn't have any pain for years. I remember picking up a heavy printer in 1995 and ended up in pain for a few weeks, the MRI showed nothing. I became a runner in the early 90's and loved it. Then in 2004, I started having excruciating pain in neck and shoulders. I couldn't function as a teacher if I didn't have the medication and chiropractor. My pain has never really gone away since then. I bought a TENS unit but my skin breaks out from the electrodes if I use it for more than a few days. I've had a stressful summer and now had to go back to chiropractor for another 12 visits. I hurt shortly after I wake up and use my arms for anything. I work in a library which means I handle books which irritates it more. I am trying to rest my neck as much as possible and find my activities are greatly limited due to pain. I should have gone to a company xmas party tonight but the pain is shooting up into my head. Anyway, thanks for being here and I really am grateful to find this group.
