Guest guest
Just wait until your blood count is back up and continue. A low white count is very dangerous, because it means decreased immunity and leaves you open to anything. Rbcs are responsible for nourishment and carrying oxygen to the body, so it is a serious thing when they are low. Try to gat a copy of the report, it should have the high and low normal limits on it, then you can get an idea of how you feel, when they are low and maybe become aware of it before the lab tests, or take some medication to help avoid the drop. Guest guest
Ron What kind of doctor are you seeing? A Hepatologist sounds like what you need at this point. There is so much out there you can take and do to help you stay on the treatment wondering about the tests you have had done so far for him saying this. Hang in there and stay positive that you will find the answer you can't give up. Winne
Guest guest
Ron You may be one of those people who can't take the combo but I would not give up yet and find a new doctor that makes you understand better why you can't tolerate the combo and find you another alternative if so you need help so go and find it - theres lots of doctors out there and one just for you. Good luck!!!!!!! Where do you live? Winne

Guest guest
No, do not stop treatment , the dose of ribavirin should be lowered by a capsule but restart therapy and monitor white counts every week.
Guest guest
My Dr. did that Went to taking one cap a day ,no good, then just interferon shots three times a week ,still wbc were going down and rbc very low. that's when he stopped all treatment. Are you saying to restart treatment what will make the result any different? I have heard of other cases were the person just could not take these drugs, some have almost died, I may be one of those rare cases what else can I do!.Ron Re: Attn.Doc > No, do not stop treatment , the dose of ribavirin should be lowered by a > capsule but restart therapy and monitor white counts every week. > >
Guest guest
He is a G.I.and treats outher hep-c people. He did try lowering the dosage of both meds ,rbc and wbc still went down. There are reports of some people that can not take the combo at any dosage,I may be one of those people. What can I do? Re: Attn.Doc > Ron > > What kind of doctor are you seeing? Guest guest
Wghat does he intend to put you on, when your count comes back up. It wouldn't hurt to get another opinion from a specialist. Just go with what he asays for now, there is no point in dying from the cure. There are a lot of alternatives, so keep posting and getting info. from others who have gone through it. Thinking of you.
