Guest guest
I got a letter from the ortho clinic that said my HMO was refusing to pay for surgery to fix my broken leg. When I called the HMO ......they said my broken leg was due to a workman's comp injury (sprained ankle) in 1998! I got al little upset and asked how could a sprained right ankle break my left femur FOUR YEARS LATER !!!!!!! I cannot believe what they will go through trying to get out of paying a bill. They have now met their match..LOL I'm going to have fun with this.... hugs, Judy
Guest guest
ohmigod Judy! I can't believe it! In May, I forget what date, 20 something, is a movie about HMO's and how they let people die to save money. As if that were anything new to us. alley

Guest guest
Absolute unbelievable...I just hate HMOs. But at this particular moment in my life, I'd take an HMO over the nothing I have. jcmmo@... wrote: > I got a letter from the ortho clinic that said my HMO was refusing to > > pay for surgery to fix my broken leg. Guest guest
Geez that is ridiculous, what will they pull next. I use to have a cartoon of a person in a hospital bed and the nurse talking to him. It said that now that HMO's were not allowing enemas anymore the nurse told the patient that she was going to have to slap the sh*t out of him. Good Luck, Connie --- jcmmo@... wrote: > I got a letter from the ortho clinic that said my > HMO was refusing to > pay for surgery to fix my broken leg. Guest guest
Alley I think the movie was Q where they would not put his son on the transplant list because of his HMO insurance and he had to come up with a lot of money of his own before they would even put his son on the list. I was crying like a baby at the end of it but the son got his transplant and the father went to jail. It really got me thinking but also made me think I will never give up on anthing that has to do with my husband and this illness getting what he needs. Guest guest
Hi Winne, I have been wondering how you and your husband are. I have a court date with SS in August. They sent me to a shrink and an Internal Med Dr. The Internal med one could not test my breathing because of a bloody nose. The Shrink made me realize how bad I have become at simple math, spelling, shapes and looking at something then try to remember and other stuff. Made me feel really stupid. Guest guest
Connie I can't see why they are putting you through all of that for your SS. It took us a year but our doctor helped us with the final letter that we took to the hearing for it and it only took 5 minutes and he was approved and the Judge said he was sorry we had to make the trip there which was out of town and that he should of been approved before then. He finally got medicare now this past Feb. of this year so we are waiting to see how that works with my insurance also. It has been a long haul as you know but hang in there and you will get it - don't give up. If there is one thing we have learned through this is that you never give up. has been on the Interferon of some kind and you know our story for 2 1/2 years now and receiving his SS for 1 1/2 years that is when you get the medicare with it. Its a crazy system out there you just have to hang in there and beat it. Keep up the fight. Winne
