14th Annual Sierra AIDS Walk Hike for AIDS and Hepatitis at Calaveras Big Trees

State Park September 18, 2010

Sierra HOPE will host their 14th Sierra AIDS Walk on Saturday, September 18,

2010. Start your walk anytime between 9am and 11:30am, at Calaveras Big Trees

State Park. The Walk is a major fundraising event for Sierra HOPE, a nonprofit

organization providing a variety of educational and support services for

HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis in Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. Sierra HOPE,

celebrating its 20th year of service in the foothills, continues to be a leader

in the fight against these diseases....

Most of our funding services come from government contracts and grants, but an

increasing amount must be raised locally, through fundraising and individual

donations. Last year’s AIDS Walk sponsors and participants helped us raise over

$11,000!

We are hoping that people will be drawn to the beautiful surroundings at

Calaveras Big Trees State Park and support this very important community event.

Participants will be able to choose from three popular trails to complete the

walk. The trails in the park, dominated by giant sequoias, have something to

offer walkers of different skill and stamina levels.

Everyone can help make this year’s Walk a success:

* Form a team with family members, friends, co-workers or church members and

walk in memory of a

loved one.

* Set a goal to raise $100, $500 or more.

* Individuals who raise $100 or more in pledges will receive a Sierra AIDS Walk

T-Shirt.

* Sierra HOPE will provide a special welcome packet and picnic lunch to all

participants.

*All contributions will be gratefully accepted.

Sponsorships are also available to support the Walk and provide visibility for

Businesses or Individuals. Sponsors may display promotional materials at the

event and their name and/or logo will be included on T-Shirts, printed materials

and the Sierra HOPE website.
