Good to hear, I started my TX on last thursday, Wow, cold chills and

fever and aches and pain all over. It seems to have some reprive at

times and feel real good so I went for a long walk as I was tired of

laying around, It helped and came back and took a good nap. Just got

up and took my evening dose of Ribivirin.Doug

I am starting week 3 and no real serious problems yet. Mild things right now

fatigue, kinda sad and no appetite. Get hot flash once in a great while. See

the doctor next month although I do have a lab this week. pat

, I did the treatment last year, my viral load was 2.5 mil. ALT & AST

were very high, don't remember now the number. My case, I'm genotype 3A since

1980. After 4 weeks of TX all my liver levels were normal, my viral load was

undetectable at week 4. I was on the TX for 9 months. I could not work. I was in

a world of hurt every freaken day. I did become anemic, but not until the 6th

month. My TX ended Dec. 10th and am still undetectable. My next appointment with

my hep DR. is in June.

How long is your TX to last and what stage is your liver at. My biopsy showed

my liver at stage 2 to 2.5. Do you know what this is?

You are in all our prayers.

Hello Glenn

I am geno 3 also. My treatment is for 6 months. Sorry, I do not understand

your liver biopsy as I am still learning. Mine said that I was stage 1

fibrosis.

Your tx result has inspired me. Do you now eat healthy and live a healthy

lifestyle?

Hello Doug

Good luck with the tx. I have gotten used to living with flu like symptoms

and cant remember what normal feels like. The joint pain has subsided over the

past couple of weeks. The rest comes and goes.

Hello Pat

Good luck with tx. I get more cold chills than hot flashes. But, like you,

at this stage, symptoms are still handlable.

Since learning I had HCV in 94' my hard alcholal drinking

stopped....completelty. I've had a glass of wive 4 or 5 times a year. I have

never felt any pain or discomfort from the HCV. I exsercise regularly and try to

eat healthy. I can't tell you the last time I had a Big Mac. I just don't eat

any kind of fast foods. My Dr. recommended I do 36 weeks instead of 24 weeks (6

months). He wanted to be sure, so he add a bunch more weeks. I dreaded it

emmensley. I thought tx time would never end. At the end I was miserable. Most

of the side effects lasted for 2 months after the tx was over.

By the way, you hear of other heppers that lost weight on the tx, well I

gained 15 lbs. I tell you, none of my pants fit. I was a 32 waist, now I'm a 34

and loosing slowly. I eat a salad at lunch and with dinner.

I just want to add that I feel great. How I feel now is how I felt before the

tx last April.

How is your health? How do you feel?

What tx are you on?

Hello Glenn

I have also stopped drinking and stopped eating junk food. I was going to

resume my normal lifestyle post tx if successful but have now decided to keep

eating healthy and to only have the odd glass of wine on social occassions. I

had no symptoms when diagnosed. I can't wait until tx is finished. Though

symptoms are bearable I can't wait to get my bounce back. Hopefully I'll have

more bounce than pre tx as I will be cleared of HCVand living and eating

healthier. Did you find this the case?

The tx I am presently taking is Pegasys RBV alfa 2a. 2 tablets in the

morning, 2 in the evening and a weekly injection.

Hello Doug

I'm in Australia, Friday has come and gone and my 10th shot is down. I have

14 weeks to go and am hanging in there. I am geno 3. I am also drinking plenty

of fluids, got up twice through the night for water and am having lots of small

snacks of healthy food like dried fruit, nuts, fresh fruit or a carrot. I am

making a fresh juice every day out of beetoot, carrots, apples or whatever and

having a multi vitamin with omega 3 with my juice. Take care.

of fluids, got up twice through the night for water and am having lots of small

snacks of healthy food like dried fruit, nuts, fresh fruit or a carrot. I am

making a fresh juice every day out of beetoot, carrots, apples or whatever and

having a multi vitamin with omega 3 with my juice. Take care.

Take care.
