Guest guest
hmmm, maybe the ER is in order. I think I would also consider looking for another primary care physician.. Things that are not normal issues probably should not put on hold for that long.. Tingling or pain or a little numbness may not be that big of an issue but what is going on with you may be something that should be looked into a little more faster, I know it would be a worry to me... At the very least the doctor you are now seeing should know what your symptoms are and give an opinion about the possibilities or the urgency of being seen.. Guest guest
But its not big or red. Its just swollen and very painful. My reg doc doesn't work on Fridays so I cant get in until Monday IF they even have an opening (its also a) holiday. I'll call them back this morning. They were supposed to call last night before they left and they didn't. Guest guest
Hey , that was the oddest thing when i got that staph. Right out of the blue. Guest guest
The only thing that I did was grab a declawed cat and I didn't even pick him up off the floor; I just put him into a carrier. Guest guest
Maybe when my hubby gets home...he's at a first aid class to become an instructor. Although I sometimes feel like he's not listening. He hasn't asked to see my hand other than checking the recovery when the tips of my fingers are squeezed and the recovery is fine. The other thing is my hand is VERY cold. It doesn't warm up unless I'm under a thick blanket for a few hours and then its really painful, like when you hang your hand off the bed and leave it there for hours. I'll ask him if I should go to the walk-in clinic. I hate going there but that's about my only option at this point (other than the ER and they do have that right next door). Guest guest
ok, i went to the local walk-in clinic and i didn't get to see a doctor, but a pa. he said he didn't think there was anything that was an emergency and had to be dealt with " now " and they said to call them on monday and make an appointment to see a neurologist. he thinks i might have thoracic compartment syndrome because of the swelling in my hand. the thing that bugs me is he didn't pay attention when i said the pain starts at the base of mt neck and goes down the arms. he got stuck on the fact that my hand hurts and kept saying that the pain starts in myhand and goes up to my back. i guess its better than nothing. i didn't get anything for the swelling or pain. i guess i'm stuck with the flexaril and indocin that are not working. i'm also not sleeping well. he wants me to sleep on my back, which i cant because it hurts my neck. he says that sleeping on my side causes my head to go downward toward the bed. it might do that a little, but i've got a thick pillow and i don't think that is contributing to my pain. it would have done that all along, wouldn't it? frustrated, irritated and very tired, joi > > You really need to got ER. > > > > **************Nothing says I love you like flowers! Guest guest
I should have gotten back to you earlier.. These clinics are not a good place to get pain meds, some of them even have a policy against ever prescribing them. Maybe it is an insurance issue for them. ERs on the other hand having deeper pockets so and they also more used to dealing with these issues. I am sorry.. Tom In a message dated 2/13/2009 11:36:30 P.M. Under my arm into the armpit, and down the arm, and at times over the top of the shoulder and down the arm.It will even make me sweat. My chiro fixes it very easily? He puts one hand in the front of my shoulder, the other behind the shoulder, and pushes together. Bingo gone. Then it takes about one day and its totally gone. I think my hand may hurt slightly too. Is that anything like you are feeling? any similair symptoms? i hope you feel better! cindy > > > > > > You really need to got ER. > > > > > > > > > > > > ************ ************<WBR>**Nothing says I love you like > flower > > near you > > > now. Guest guest
Thanks, , for replying! I'm not better today, but at oleast I know I'll get to the neurologist maybe on Monday. To me, the pain originated in my lower neck, went down the back of my shoulder and arm, then to the hand. It did that last Sunday. The more I moved my arm, the more it did that. The same thing was happening on my right arm except I had much more pins and needles/tingling than the left side. My neck and upper back still hurt quite a bit today. That hasn't gone away ever since the accidnet. Not a day goes by without me feeling it. Sometimes I can feel it go from my neck/upper back to my shoulders and down to my hands and sometimes I can't. It's like it skips my arms and goes from my back to my hands pr from my back to the shoulders then hands. It's hard to describe but my neck/upper back hurts constantly and my hands off and on and my elbows and shoulders are just real sore like they've been over used or the muscles are fatigued.
