Guest guest
Doc never threatened to sue anyone, his email stated, “WE (i.e., everyone on the list) could be sued” not by HIM but by someone reading erroneous information and being harmed by it, or by some federal agent monitoring the list. Read the original email. This whole situation is completely unwarranted. Re: If it quacks like a " Doc " ... Well, that's all well and good, but you just made the point the way it was supposed to be made. That guy's attack on doc was purely a character assassination. It was an attempt to ostracize and to inflict injury. The portions of it which subtly criticized doc's age and which characterized doc as a " drug dealer " merely because he wanted to have GHB for medical purposes was completely inappropriate. I tell you what, I am a lawyer and I am still pissed at what happened to doc. I cannot believe this is America any longer. You have to understand that equating his activity with that of a " drug dealer " is something which is purely political and has no basis in moral reasoning. I could excuse it if the discourse wasn't so educated in here. In mean, if this were the goddamn Jerry Springer show, I would expect a few moronic opinions. But it is inexcusable coming from people who are supposed to know the difference between premise and conclusion on one hand, and character assassinations on the other. gordon wrote: > > Jeff was too rough on Doc, there can be no question about that. Guest guest
Uh, Doc specifically referred to " Gordon " getting sued. The entire letter was designed to attack my credibility and to suggest the possibility of a lawsuit. You need to read in context. I like Doc as much as everyone else, even if he is wrong about a lot of things and WAY off base in suggesting lawsuits when people correct his errors. But let's just forget this whole damned episode and stay focused on science, shall we? > Doc never threatened to sue anyone, his email stated, " WE (i.e., everyone on the > list) could be sued " not by HIM but by someone reading erroneous information and being harmed by it, or by some federal agent monitoring the list. Guest guest
Hi Tatezi, You do realize it's not legal to give prescription meds to someone else, right? Of course, it goes on all the time, I just didn't know if you might be putting Doc on the spot if he answers...... (I don't KNOW if it could get him in trouble, but we sure don't want to loose him!) Ribavirin and Rebetol are the same thing. Each tablet is 200mg. I believe. (Rebetron is the old combo of interferon and ribavirin). You can probably find more info at http://www.rxlist.com/ I don't see how her insurance can refuse to pay for it. It's now approved for this use. Probably, her insurance has a 'formulary' they go by, and that's all they WANT to pay for. Like they will pay for the generic Prozac, but not name brand Prozac, or pay for Ibuprofen and NOT Vioxx. Just examples. My insurance will not pay for Vioxx, but they have been, for 2 years now. The doctor just had to write a letter to the insurance company and get an approval. There is no substitute for this medicine. I think they will HAVE to pay - the doctor is just going to have to make more effort to get the insurance co. to approve it. Good luck to your friend! Guest guest
isn't it weird at the nomenclature. We call it " combo " I guess so it'll be different than " chemo " . While I was on the IV Interferon, it was just that one drug, and the nurses called it chemo, sometimes called it infusion therapy. Wierd huh? alley

Guest guest
Hi all, If there was a Q there for me I missed it or inadvertently deleted it. I will have a look if you fw it to the List again though I am sure Claudine has tackled the question well. And dont worry about me , I am here for the long haul If some of you are also on HepB list , you will know that Annual B Informed meeting is being held in PA in June. If any of you are interested do let me know. Dr Sharat Misra MD,DM,FACG Hi Tatezi, You do realize it's not legal to give prescription meds to someone else, right? Guest guest
Rebetrol was IFN and Ribavirin 200 mg tab , bundleld and shipped together. She can certainly use your Riba, provided she has IFN or Peg. No harm done in bypasing Insuarnce Co, which kind of want to run your lives for you. Dr Sharat Misra MD,DM,FACG I have a friend who is on the peg combo. She is the same weight as me. Her insurance company just changed policies and will no longer cover many drugs (I hate this countries medical/pharmacuetical/insurance policies) among which is the " rebetrol " (that's what she says the pills are called. Is that the same as ribavarrin that was used in the old combo? I have four unopened bottlw ot it in my fridge and want to know if she can substitute with these. Can you advise me please.... Guest guest
Hi Doc I have about a 6 month supply of Ribavarin it has been refrigerated at just above freezing the whole time I have had it. My question is the expiration date on most of it is 6/01, pharmacist told me it should still be good because of the steady temperature. What do you think? Hi everyone I have the cold back and have been pretty tired.
