Guest guest
Hi everybody! I had cervical fusion, C2-C5 will be 4 yrs. this April. Although it has taken about 70% of the pain away, I still have this awful pain in my right shoulder that feels like a torn rotator cuff. I have had x-rays, CT scans and an MRI with contrast, have been seen by the surgeon that did my fusion, 2 different pain specialists, 2 different ortho. docs that specialize in shoulders and all agree that there is nothing wrong with the shoulder. I am told there is nothing wrong with my fusion either. Trigger point injections for 4 months, and no lasting relief. I am not a canidate for an implanted stimulator because of the pain in my neck, small portion of my upper back and shoulder. " Your pain is too wide spread " is what I am told. GREAT! Suggested treatment: 3x-- diagnostic medial branch block injections. I had these done prior to my surgery with no success. If I get any relief from this, then they want to do the radio frequency rhetzioplatzy (not spelled correctly I am sure). My insurance has changed this year, and for this course of treatment, it will cost me at least 4 lost days of work and close to $2000, which I can't afford. I still have migraines that land me in the ER, can't seem to find any meds. that are effective. Does anybody have some ideas that have worked for them? I live in the town/Philadelphia PA area. Thanks a bunch. Hope all are well.
