Thanks for bringing this up..I also had a dentist tell me not to drink

milk..as it tends to make my teeth more yellow..And as a child I was also

told by a family doctor that I didn't need all that required milk, for it

upset my stomach and caused me to live in the bathroom..and today I know of

people allergic to milk..no matter if it is organic or not..etc.. 2 percent

or whatever. I do better on just pure heavy cream.( We are exactly what we

eat and drink, and it shows in our health to ) Also years ago I would have

terrible headaches from milk and milk products and like.. cottage-cheese is

one of my enemies..I dare not eat much of it either.Low fat or otherwise.

HI Suzanne:

Thanks for the update on . Sometimes our kids have worsening of

symptoms when they start treatment. This can be a good sign re: meds as

that means they will get a good response once their body has adjusted. 10

mg of Prozac is fairly low to be able to get a good response to OCD,

although as you are seeing it is helping already with the comorbid

depression.

Also when our kids start doing CBT (with E & RP) it can sometimes seem like a

lot of new symptoms come up and their OCD is multiplying. Luckily in time

the treatments generalize and they learn to use the general techniques in

different circumstances.

What you said about being frightened is something I can really relate to.

OCD can be very scary to a parent, it is even more scary to our kids. It

sounds like you are getting some great treatment for and I hope

to read more of her progress soon. Take care, aloha, Kathy (H)

Pete,

I'm with you. With the chf and the coreg and all the other meds I can't

still do anything, but wish I could! But when I go in a rest home or see

something on tv I count my blessings of what I can do!

I received a personal e-mail from this guy as well. He apparently

sent one to people who are of regular " posters " on this web site.

I asked him nicely to not send me any more e-mails.

Someone said that new people go into more detail about their illness

than he did. I also recognized that he said " he finally found this

web site " . It only took me a few minutes to find this once I decided

to look for a support group.

Well, anyway, I do believe we have an awesome support group. I am

really glad I found it.

People try to understand what you are going through, but it is hard

to understand something without going through it personally. Their

nice and all but I am really glad I have all of you as a sounding

board for this " A " .

Sorry for the mail which I sent as below which is not in English .While I have

learnt that there was a friend which has a same problem in my country,I wanted

to share my experiences about the doctors and to make recommandations about the

experienced doctors immediately. But I didn't care about the detail of receivers.

Sorry again...

Hello to all!

My son Ongun was diagnosed a week ago. He is 6 and just started

school. Although we had many episodes of fever in the past we never

knew such a syndrome before. After the last attack, which lasted

almost six days and never responded to three different antibiotics,

and after many tests, he was given some steroids, which in two hours

normalized the fever (36.5 C). Now I want to learn what expects Ongun

in the future. I have read a lot of documents on the internet but

still have some question marks on my mind. I hope I can find answers

to them through your help. Three specific questions:

1. After the first dose of prednisone, his doctor says, they don't

expect another attack for almost a year. However some parents say

that the periods between attack shorten when prednisone is used. What

is the answer?

2. Is tonsilloctomy really helpful?

3. What is the expected age when the disease totally disappear?

Thanks for help.

Hi ! Its good to know that there are a few of us on the list who can

truly understand what we are going through. It is hard enough to raise a child

with autism when both parents are together. It is even harder when we are doing

it by ourselves. I don't have family that lives close by. My mom is an hour

away. I only moved to be closer to services. I have one close friend who tries

to help. My church is getting used to my son and his quirks It is sometimes

lonely and scary to be doing this alone.
