pat,

Hi. You don't even have to have liver damage to have brain fog. I never thot

I'd have it. I have mild inflamation in my liver, no fibrosis etc (course

there is a margin for error, prolly the very first steps to fibrosis). Yet I

too have brain fog. It comes and goes, was really bad on treatment, I didn't

remember stuff from one minute to the next haha.

I've learned to work around it. Lots of sticky notes, address books,

backups, lots of paper and pens everywhere to write stuff down. My kids know

to write down stuff for me, esp when I'm grandbaby sitting, like where the

diapers are (daughter can't keep em in ONE place lol, often leaves them in

the car). Even my oldest grandson writes me notes haha. Hubby usually uses

email and icq to remind me of stuff (icq has a timer feature).

You could try some of the " mental herbs " but I don't recommend it without

talking to your doctor, they can have other sides.

Good luck :) Sometimes the best I can do is OVERCOME! hahha

Hi Pat,

Oh, the 'ole brain fog'...it's a very real medical condition and really mess

us up sometimes.

We all react different or show this particular symptom in a different way. I

forgot many things, got confused in a check out line, forgot where I was

going or why, even at home. Doing the treatment can also create this

problem, or enhance it, but either way, it's something we are stuck with.

Good luck!

Betty

Pat,

Don't know your age, but some of this could be menopause. I can remember

secretly laughing at my Mother's use of 3X5 notebooks to keep up with

everything. Now I use legal sheets, post its. a daily notebook, and the

computer, and still lose it occassionally. I will say that the drastic

change from pre-treatment to post-treatment has really surprised me. Wish

I'd taken an IQ test just prior and post to determine how many brain cells

got killed. LOL, Anne

I remember when I was diagnosed, I had given up doing night school because I

just couldn't concentrate. My usual quick intelligence was like thinking

thru mud. And that was 10 years ago, at least now I know why haha.

I am really looking foward to getting off the antidepressants or at least

reducing them drastically. They really dull me too.
